We are not related, just enjoy a challenge! I assume Annie was your Mother-in-law?

If I see anything further re Annie/ Nancy, or anything about their lives when they were younger I will let you know.

If you haven't already, see if you can find any record of the children in the Derby Orphanage. The article dies say they needed to be aged 6 before they were admitted.

There is a link to where the surviving records are held.

Both Annie's and Albert's DC should give their normal address. With that information you can search the historical ER to discover the names of adults at the same address. You could also work out which were the closest Primary Schools.

Track down where admission registers might be held and search to see if Edith is listed. The nearest archive or family history centre would be good place to start.
