Find Living Relatives

I am looking for the living descendants of my great uncles Francis, born 1883 in Laugharne, Wales, married in 1912 at St Lukes Church Howick Natal South AFrica to Hilda Mary Gibson. Francis died in 1918 in Benoni, South Africa.

THey had 3 children.
1. Valerie Minnie Hurt Peel b 1914 South AFrica, last information I have is she emigrated to US via UK in 1942 age 28.
Did she return to UK, SA, or stay in Canada maybe, marry, and have issue

2. Edmund Allan Hurt Peel, b 1915 SA. Married 1940 Emily Hobhouse van Reenan Cobbledick and lived in Durban
I dont know if they had children or whether she had children from her first marriage to Alfred (?) Cobbledick only

3. Neville Lawrence Hurt Peel b 21.6.1916 in SA and came to UK in 1953 and died in Chichester in 1979

Did any of these 3 have children, and if so, can anyone help me find them.

Thanks, I have also just found a marriage of a Valerie MH Peel in Kensington London 1946 to a James R Burgess. I am not sure if this is her or not as the record is not very specific, but maybe she only went to US for a year in 1942 and came back and was promoted.
Her cousins all live(d) in Canada at Shoal Lake and Alberta, which explains the trips there, and she was very close to her aunt, (my grandmother) Dulcie who lived in UK all her life (d. 1957 )

WOW, thank you for filling in the gaps I had.
So that makes Neville the 3rd child definitely (which is good)
and it looks like none of them (Valerie, Edmund or Neville) had children of their own.

Edmund stayed in Durban and I am left hoping he had children with Mrs van Reenan / Cobbledick though I think she had children before she married him, and I can find no evidence they had 'Peel' children

My trail for this Great Uncles family might end here. How very sad.

I will try to get a hold of the death certificate just to be sure.

I have found a daughter, called Pamela Rawson Burgess, born in 1948. She accompanied her mother, Valerie, age 1 1/2 to Singapore where I presume her father was stationed. He is named as an Army Officer.

It has come to life again, this search. :-)

I did look for possible births burgess /peel and there were several coming up not knowing where they lived couldn't say if any where Valerie's children

Pamela was reg in Amersham bucks but is the only one for that district

The last address for Valerie and Pamela on the outward passenger list was Fernlea ,Cookham, Berkshire

Thankyou Shirley, I hope when the death certificates arrive I will get an address for Pamela as the next of kin on one of them. If Neville died without marrying then she was presumably his next of kin too.

I will keep investigating in South Africa for a marriage /children for Neville now - just in case!

Hello you lovely helpers. Do you think I have found Pamela Rawson Burgess - daughter of Valerie. could she be Pamela Rawson Gange now (I found a tree on Ancestry with Valerie on it). Where will I find the marriage for her, as she is still alive I think. Thankyou...

The Burgess who married Gange is Patricia not Pamela...I think there might be a mistake on the tree...which sadly doesn't help.

I'm going to PM a possible marriage for Pamela, it's a long shot but having found them on the electoral roll also, the age is about right, it may be worth writing if only to eliminate that one.

There are several Pamela R marriages, but most connect with marriages in the same locale as birth.
