Arthur Lewis Jones (born 1910) enlisted on the 3rd December 1943 at Baltimore.
At some stage he was posted to the U.K.
This weekend I visited the American Cemetery in Maddingley Cambridge and I realised that I might be able to find out more about his service.
He is buried in Arlington. The details I have are these
PFC HDQ BTRY 416 FA GP FA USA.
How can I find out which service he was in and particularly when and where he was in
England ?
With thanks

Have a look here:-

https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/United_States_World_War_II_Service_Records

It tells you which service records are available to the public and which are not.

EDIT - duplicate thread. The other is on Find Ancestors:-

I have managed to find his service number- thank you. From what I read on this site though the majority of records were destroyed and you need to be next of kin to access the remainder. I am not THAT close a relation but had my interest piqued by the visit to the Cambridge Military cemetery mentioned above.
I'm left wondering whether there is a separate depository of records relating to American servicemen who were stationed in England?
