All above my head I'm afraid ( no pun intended)

"Although it appears to be a single star to the naked eye, 61 Cygni is in fact a widely separated binary system, composed of two K class (orange) main sequence stars"

Perhaps I should have written nearest StarS not star.

Anyway
Clue to : 30 D H S, A J A N

Yes Mike * that is what I intended, but I now see the ambiguity in the statement, i.e. it is the closest star in that constellation, not the closest of all stars (excluding the sun of course).

Or is there some new data about stars in Cygnus?

Mike *

Mike * Report 30 Nov 2013 12:13

I'm guessing at ...

61 Cygni, the nearest star in the constellation of Cygmus

though some new data doesn't appear to support this
(what do I know ?)

30 D H S, A J A N
