I’ve made a start by looking at the Baptism Register for
St: Mary & St: Hardulph. Parish Church Breedon – on - the – Hill.

My reaction to the entry of Elizabeth was:~
1st. Sept. 1811.
Elizabeth BEAL Dau of Hannah Potts.
Breedon.
H Foster. Curate.

Now…… We have the following Marriage :~

John Potts. ~ Hannah PERCIVALL.
Both of this Parish.
Married in this Church by Banns
This Fifteenth day of January
One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eleven.
By Me :~ John Middleton. Vicar.
John signed by own signature
Hannah by her Mark …X

In the Presence of :~
Enoch Percivall.
Hannah Potts. ( Mother of John ? )

So…. If they followed the naming order in those days
The BEAL name could be the maiden name of Hannah Percivall’s Mother or John's Mother's maiden name ?

So was Elizabeth the Daughter of John's Mother ?
or did Hannah Percivall conceive before her marriage to John ? which was just nine months before the Baptism ?

The rest of your list Registers read thus :~

Mary Potts 17th Nov 1811. Daughter of John & Hannah Potts Lab. Breedon.
Mary Potts 5th May 1814 mother is Hannah Potts
( Mary dies two years latter buried 11th. Jan. 1815. aged. 2.)

Mary Potts 29th Sept 1816 Dau. of John Potts and Hannah Potts Lab. Breedon.

John Potts 8th Aug 1814 John Potts and Hannah Potts. Lab. Breedon.

Plus :~
Sarah Potts 28th. July. 1819.Dau. of John & Hannah Potts. Lab. Breedon.

MARRIAGE :~ 1832.
St Mary & St: Hardulph. Parish Church. Breedon - on - the - Hill.
Page. 32.
Entry No’. 94.
John Dakin. Of the Parish of Mickleover
In the County of Derbyshire.

Elizabeth Potts. Of this Parish.

Married in this Church by Banns
This Seventeenth Day of December.
One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Two.
By Me : ~ James ? .( Sorry not clear to be sure of surname )

John signed the register by his Mark ….X.
Elizabeth by her own signature.

In the Presence of :~
Thomas Enzor.
SARAH Potts.

SO. …..Have we CRACKED IT ? .

Hi Mike,

Could you do me a couple of Loughborough look-ups when you have a minute?

1. I'm looking for a marriage between Catherine Billson (1779-1847?) and Edward Parkinson (c1775-1803), probably around 1800, because the first child I know of was born in 1801. The family were Baptists, but I assume they would have had to marry in a CofE church. When Catherine remarried in 1808, it was at All Saints, Loughborough.

2. I'm also looking for a marriage between John Billson (c1745-1819) and Elizabeth ?, probably around 1778, because the first child I know of was baptised in 1779, also at All Saints, Loughborough.

Thanks a lot!

Mary

Hi Mike

Thanks very much. That is great stuff have to digest this.

Would you be able to find anything on him.
Thanks again

Greeting’s again. …… Anne.

Sorry but no evidence of a George Wakley / Wakerley
Trawled all Census returns plus my database
both in Wakerley/ Wakley / Flint & even Hefford names just in case it was Brother in Law . …..
Interesting on the 1851 Census returns that there was a :~
Eliza FLINT granddaughter aged 1.born Leicester
Within the Household of Elizabeth Wakerley Widow Swithland.

Sorry. I’ve not been able to find anything for you this time.

MIKE.

Anne Report 15 Mar 2009 08:18

Thanks again for that Mike.

I couldn't find anything on him except a shipping record (George).

Was there anything on Francis Wakely/ Wakerley death. 1841-1851.

Eliza is the daughter of John and Sarah Flint. Sorry if I'm asking a bit much. Was there any births for this couple in Swithland besides Eliza Jane Flint b:1850

Thanks again. It is 730pm here on the 15/3/09

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 16 Mar 2009 17:23

Greeting’s & Welcome. …… Kathleen.

We have a choice of two due to NO location given in your request. :~

.
St: Peter & St: Paul. Parish Church..
BARLESTONE.
Leicestershire.

Parish Burial Reg. No'. 392.

ERNEST GIBSON.

Abode. …..BARLESTONE

8th.-December. 1911.

Aged. 9.

And from the G.R.O. Death Index Records Site.

Oct. ~ Nov. ~ Dec. Qrt. 1911.

Ernest Gibson.
Leicester.
Aged. 9.
Cert. No’. 7 a 325.

The event above did NOT appear in my Welford Road Cemetery Index....
There fore it could have been Gilroes Cemetery ........Sorry.

After some thought the details seem the same albeit
the Death was Registered in Leicester
and the burial took place in the Parish of Barlestone.

Just wonder if Ernest died at an address in Leicester….?
So that’s why the Death was register at the Leicester Registrars Office
But coming from Barlestone he was buried there

Kathleen Report 17 Mar 2009 15:33

Thanks Mike for the up-date, I' m bit confused now though, can't see what the connection to Barleston would be, I think the only way to see if he's mine is to get the death cert.

Many thanks

Greeting’s again. …….. Kathleen.

The other reason I’m thinking it’s the same person for both events
Is that if it was two separate Deaths / Burials
Then there should have been two Index records of these events on the G.R.O. Site.
But there is just the one that being the Leicester one.
The other one would had have Market Bosworth District
Which Barlestone came under
Included within the Cert details.

But as you say best to order that cert and take it from there
But do not forget it’s a Death cert. so NO details of where the burial took place.
