RE..Australia Electoral Rolls.
I am a member of "ancestry" and that is where I access the electoral roll.

If you want others looked up send me a 'pm' with full names and which state (if known), and I would be happy to help.

OK Julie, I will do if required. Do you have a Hooper interest?

The Electoral Rolls must be a feature of your Australian Ancestry. What States & years are available?

I do not get that with my Ancestry UK annual subscription - even for the UK, but we do get 'NSW Free Settlers, 1826 - 1922'

It says "Australian Electoral Rolls, 1901-1936" for all states except Sth Aust. BUT... NSW only has 1930 & 1936. Other states have years scattered between 1901 & 1936, depending if there was an election that year.

Also , No I do not have any family connection.

Edward had 10 children- of these 1 was ELSTONE alias HOOPER , 8 were only ELSTONE but THOMAS was called ELSTONE HOOPER
He was born on 04/09/1791 and married Lettitia Parsons in Bedminster BRISTOL on 12/04/1814 , and this is when the family is first mentioned in BRISTOL.
His eldest child -Thomas Elston Hooper (b 03/03/1822 Bristol) married 1- Martha Jane Jewell at St Michael Bristol on 09/06/1840 ( there was a second marriage to a Margaret Williams about 1867 )
All 8 children of the HOOPER JEWELL marriage were ELSTONE HOOPER .
I have the full list of their descendants and also ancestors back to 1590 or so.

Hi Ruth

David may not be active on GR anymore, as this is a very old thread.

You could try sending him a private message and he will get an email notification. Just click on his name.

Good luck!
