some older people on here might ask you to find derek and ask him for help. will look in my old messages and find his surname for u to message him. have you tried writing to the local council, when he moved out of the flat i am presuming it was council, he has to leave a forwarding address with them, or if he is still in council property they will forward a letter on to him. good luck,

Hi Gemma

I have an old BT CD from about 1994 and there is a FWJ Long at that address. There is also this death which could be possible match (it is the only one which fits all three initials):
Frederick William J Long 25 Aug 1913 Jul 2004 90 Lewisham London

This is probably the matching birth
Births Sep 1913
Frederick W J Long
Mother's Maiden Name = Barham

Hi Gemma

You could try looking at old newspapers to see if there were any announcements from family on that death of FWJ Long. The other thing that it might be worth doing is to look at the probate information held in Holborn which, if he left a will, should tell you who the executors were and if you got a copy of the will it might give some other clues. A copy of a will costs £5 I think.

Their is this birth:

1961 AMJ
Long David B
mmn Bryan
Bermondsey 5c 51

and this one possibly for his mother:

Births Dec 1919 (>99%)
Bryan Ivy L Johnson St. Olave 1d 372

Could be a coincidence, have you found the marriage for Davids parents?

Regards
LfW
