Maybe you maybe able to help me. My grt grt grandfather was sent to Australia in 1810 [convict] being born in 1785. He was sent from Southhampton and could have been born in Alvenstock.Thanks for any help you can give Rona.

His name was WIlliam Chadwick does make it easier if I gave a name. Oh well I am a dope.Rona.

Unfortunately I found an Ernest not Enoch that we were looking for! Perhaps they were cousins though as it seems they have the same middle name/surname Brown Fish.

So the hunt for Enoch is still on.......

I've seen this marriage, but discounted it because the chap's name is Ernest.
I AM tempted to send for the cert, just to satisfy my curiosity, and also because Enoch's marriage just can't seem to be found!
Re: he didn't like his name (I thought of that, too) - He was still called Enoch when he died!

hello. Sorry. I'm very new to this. My tree is open to look at. I only have the name of my dads father that adopted himself and his blood sister). My dad is Peter william greenfield Lefley and his sister is called Christine. All i know is that they were both adopted as children. The adoption father was called Herbert Lefley from Scunthorpe. I am trying to seek information on my dads blood parents and any more siblings that they may have. Can you help?

You need to find your dad's birth cert. Do you know his birth name and when he was born?

Danielle, there is a Herbert Lefley born 1916 Scunthorpe on a tree on this site. Just type the name into the 'quick search' box at the top of the page. Then you can send a private message to the tree owner

Also two people have Peter Lefley born 1974 on the site.

As Rose said, you need to find the birth registration so you can buy his birth cert (£7)

If you know his date of birth, we can help you find the registration numbers that you will need in order to buy the cert.

This will tell you both his Mother and Fathers names.
