For Ruth Robson born 1831 Ruby Parish Durham.

I think her parents may have been George and Mary.
She later married a Thomas Lister ( in 1860)and was widowed by 1881 census.

Her son William Lister 1862 is my link. I do have 1881 and 1901 census info on this family.

All the siblings were born in either the St Olave or St Saviour district which comes under Surrey as does Walworth where George and Jane married

This is them in 1851 however on the actual record Edward Taylor is their son and it states "born before Marriage" am going to look into this, however at least you now have Mary's maiden name.

Hi Lesley,

Getting complicated! I had a look on familysearch and found a marriage for Mary Taylor in 1836, so probably right. That means that George Robson was married before, widow with two children. Shame it just misses out on 1837 BMD. Makes it harder.

I'm off to bed soon so will check back in the morning as its 10.25pm here.

Cannot find her however its not unusual for the head of house to not mention a servant they had working for them.

I have also tried varients of her name but still nothing coming up - have also tried Eliza Detig and varients of that name but again nothing

I can't even find the kids and their parents in the 1901 census.

On George & Jane's marriage certificate does it give the fathers name and where they were both living?

Sorry to take so long but have been looking for the info you wanted.It gives her fathers name as George Webb and to make it more confusing her mother is also Jane,but no surname given.His fathers name is given as Frederick.This is all i have

I wondered if you could do a 1851 lookup for me please on a Arthur and Sarah Witham. Arthur would be 42 and living around Bognor - south Bersted Sussex, if possible the 1861 as well. There seems to be a lot of Withams around this area.
