hi kirsty information l have on the burgess family william could have been born in 1879 l no he died in 1928 he married a margaret curry in oct 1902 northumberland there siblings were alice,mary ellen,william,robert,john,andrew,thomas alexander hes my grandad born 1906 dunbar east lothian,margaret and annie born 1919 morpeth dont know if the rest of the siblings were born in dunbar been told by family members they were no dates of birth given to me.

Could you please find Walter J Piper in any of the census's... he was born in 1850 in Bath, Somerset.

Father was John... hopefully there is something there for him in all records...

I thought his mother (Eliza) and his sister Mary A Gray would be at the same address.
Eliza Gray was born in Ireland c1841, she had a daughter Mary A Gray c1863 in Port Glasgow, she then had John c1866. eliza cannot be found on the 1871 Census,she shows up on the 1881 Census where she is married to Robert Thomson living at -
6 Montgomerie St,Port Glasgow.
This woman is a mystery.

I have been trying to find her for you and am not having much luck!

The thing is with Ancestry you can only view the page you request for the Scottish records, where as on the English 1's you can look at the original and see the neighboughs etc. It might just be that they are there but not trancsribed properly.

I think you might be better off asking someone who can access the original Scotish records.
