Is this their marriage in NSW?

The Sydney Morning Herald, Saturday 7 April 1883

They had 2 children in NSW:

That is most definitely them. I had information that said there was a James, obviously not correct.
Thank you so much, very much appreciated.

Hi Cherilyn,

Can you find anything about the following family, they lived in Brisbane QLD:
Cyril Edward Skinner b1890 England
Mabel Florence Skinner b1888 England (his wife)
Beryl Elizabeth Skinner b18/07/1923 Brisbane

Cyril and Mabel married in England so it's just their deaths I'm after.
Any trace of a marriage, or death for Beryl?

Thanks for the offer,
Katie

Tawny Report 2 Sep 2010 20:38

Hi Cherilyn

I was wondering if you might be able to help me find Leonard John Waller who was born in Tring, Hertfordshire in 1897.

He was known as John to his family and left London on November 7th 1922 on a ship bound for Australia using the name John L. Waller.

BatMansDaughter very kindly found two records for Leonard John Waller. The first was a marriage which only said 1917-1927 South Australia with no details given on spouce. The other record was a death dated 2nd July 1938 South Australia.

BatMansDaughter suggested you may be able to help me by finding more details on one or both records.

Hi Tawny

I am wondering if this marriage is actually for a different Leonard John WALLER.

There is a WWI enlistment in this name, he was 19 in 1914, but was born in SA so marriage found there may be him.

WALLER Leonard John : Service Number - 249 : Place of Birth - Warooka SA : Place of Enlistment - Morphettville SA : Next of Kin - (Mother) WALLER Elizabeth

Bit of a coincidence I agree. Are you sure your John was born in UK?

The 1938 death notice in the Adelaide Advertiser says he was husband of Nancy (nee Comler) and father of Shirley, Margaret & John. Gives his name as Leonard John (Jack).

Cherilyn

Cherilyn Report 3 Sep 2010 04:54

The John L Waller b. c1898 who came to Oz in 1922 went to Melbourne. It appears he travelled alone.

No marriage or death found in Vic. Sorry :-(

Tawny Report 3 Sep 2010 07:59

Thank you for looking. Someone found me Leonard Johns christening record so I am positive he was born in the uk.

In that case, I think the marriage and death in SA is a different person. Sorry :-(
