Find Ancestors

I am tryiing to find a marriage between 1861 and 1881 for a William J Masters b1837 Somerset. wife Sarah. Looking for the wifes maiden surname. have found them on the 1871 Census also on the 1881 Census living in southwark then Lambeth.. appreciate any help please.

If they were supposedly married on the 1871 census........why extend the search to 1881?
