Hi Patchem

the Info you asked about and a seaside town was mentioned earlier which my dad recalls the family coming from a seaside town he thought it was Scarborough though.

Wilfred, Sidney, Arthur, George, William and Ethel.... I've got no birth dates for these family members apart from Wilfred which Im not a certain of but I think 1902 was the year he was born x

Hi All

I think the searches you have done your on the right track I seem to be off in another direction and got no where.........I was right about my dad getting all his aunts and uncles names mixed up.......just managed to get a hold of an Aunts number and rang her my dads sister tells me there was a Wilfred , May, Edna, Irene and George....she even said McArthur sounded familiar to her xx

Pleased that the names your aunt gave you confirmed what we have found.
If there is any doubt (and there is) it is always best to start buying certificates and slowly working your way back.
So you need the birth certificates and marriage certificates to make sure that everything fits together.

I didn't know I could buy them...... can I buy them from deaths births and marriages in Hull or do I have to go some where else xx

PS I think they got married on Christmas Eve Herbert was on leave from the navy at the time so Im told..... I've just been going through that free births and marriages site I found a couple with the same name and the same month that I was told its telling me they married in 1933 xx

If you need to order certs then use this website

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

You need to register first and have the details for example

Births Mar 1901
Suddaby Edna
Sculcoates
Vol: 9d Page: 208

This is the official site but beware there are other sites that charge as much as £30 instead of £9.25
