Hi Vera. Lemuel Hampson came from Sheffield Yorkshire, so maybe that's how he knew Mr Calvert. If you can find where Mr Calvert is crossed out on the passenger list of the Rhynland in 1900 you will see its WM Calvert

Amongst the collections at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_STATES
is the US 1900 census:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1325221
You can search it and view images for free.

From 1900 thru 1940, the US census covered all 50 states or territories that would become these states, plus DC.

Still no luck John with finding Wm Calvert on passenger list with Lemuel in 1901. Please give me the name of the passenger recorded next to him. Not sure what record you are looking at but hoping there maybe some clues as to who he is.

Hi Vera. Mrs Ellen Wilcocks was the next passenger to Wm Calvert on the list, there is a gap between passengers on the list so scroll down to bottom of page. It states he was a Clerk. There is another William Calvert travelling to Philadelphia leaving the following month he's down as a Gent. I really don't think we are going to find him unless he is seen in a census in Wyola or in that area. I do appreciate you helping me. Regards John

Looks like we're out of luck with a census for Wyola according to this site
