I need some help please as to where exactly is Wyola, is it in Montana or Wyoming. The reason of asking is when I looked up a passenger going to Philadelphia in 1900 it states that his friend was a Mr Calvert of Wyola. I have been trying to find this Mr Calvert on the census with no luck. I think he is something to do with Silver refining so presume my relative was going out there to work with silver for his occupation was a silver refiner

Wyola Montana

Wyola is a census-designated place in Big Horn County, Montana, United States. The population was 215 at the 2010 census. 79% of the residents are Native American, and the majority are members of the Crow Nation

Its actual location is in the south of Montana approximately 10 miles north of the boarder with Wyoming

Many thanks Roy. Is it possible for you to look in the 1910 census to see if a Mr William Calvert is living in Wyola

John

You have two threads about him already, if he can be found on the 1910 someone would have posted it

You were quite right not to look up the place on a map, like https://maps.google.com/
Asking folk who've never heard of the place is a much better strategy.

Big Horn Co was only created 1913 (out of Yellowstone & Rosebud Cos)

There's only one Mr Calvert in these 2 counties in 1910, a preacher in Yellowstone Co:
