I am so sorry, I have made a mistake in the surname. How really stupid of me.

The thing is that the first child of John and Emma Coleman was born before they were married. John was not the father and on the 1891 census John Jnr. reverted to his birth name of John Adams. He is the only Adams out of their children. To clarify, I am looking for Emily and Mary Ann Coleman. The sightings you have Mel Fairy Godmother and Argyll Gran are my family but I cannot find the two girls after 1891

I wondered if that was the case with the surname but ArgyllGran really cottoned on before I did.

Why I am focussing on this bit of the tree is that I would love to see a photo of my grandparents, Louisa (nee Coleman) and Joseph Holmes. I have never seen one ever and this would bring tears to my eyes to know what they looked like. I am hoping that in finding ancestors along a different branch of the family, they might have a photo but it is a long shot. I live in hope and thanks in advance for anyone who might find Emily or Mary Ann. I have made about 5 visits to the archives centre at Kew, where they have wonderful research facilities but to no avail. One day maybe, the mysteries will be solved..............

I have come across this Emily before and I am almost certain she is not my one. I remember the unusual name of the groom. Mine was Baptised only Emily (but she could have taken on an extra middle name I suppose) - I have been to Aylesbury and have the church records for St. Nicholas, Great Kimble. Rather a difference in age but anything is possible in "love" or maybe if you are very poor? Wonder if others think this is her. I haven't written why it is not her in my notes which is not good. I think I also looked for her in Battersea on 1901 and 1911 census but couldn't find her there - not that proves she was in the area or not
