Does anyone have more information on the past thread? William Fuller, Emily's son was most likely my great grandfather.

nameslessone Report 30 Jan 2024 09:02

Welcome to Genes and the boards.

As you know, you have added to an old thread. Deborah is still a member, if you click on her name you can send her a pm. If she has kept her email address up to date she will be notified of your message.

However, unlike other sites, neither of you will be notified of any additions to the thread.

ErikaH Report 30 Jan 2024 09:08

How have you worked back to this man? Who did he marry?

Deborah never apparently returned to this thread - she certainly didn’t post any thanks for the help given.

GRO Reference: 1909 M Quarter in CROYDON Volume 02A Page 283

1911 census posted on page 1.

In 1921 George and Emily, with sons Walter and Charles E, are living in Tottenham.
William isn't with them.

George died in Finsbury reg district in 1931

In 1921 there's a William Fuller, 1908, born Penge, listed alone in Croydon.
I can't tell if that's the right person or not, though it looks very likely.
Maybe someone with a sub to FMP will spot further clues in the record.

William Fuller is such a common name that it's impossible to tell from online records who (or if) he married, or when he died.

Institution name Croydon Union Homes For Children 4 Pawsons Road Croydon

The boy is 13 years of age, which, if accurate, means his birth would have been before 19th June 1908

If we are to help Matt, he needs to add more info.

alviegal Report 30 Jan 2024 11:20

This is the 1921 suggested for George.

Just a comment in passing:

Occasional Copy: D means that changes/corrections to the original registration were made four times.

They could be very minor changes, but we'll never know what they were, or when they were made, without seeing the cert.

ErikaH Report 30 Jan 2024 13:43

It's all speculation until Matt comes back with some details ;-) ;-)
Not pursuing this any further for the time being
