Find Ancestors

Hi All,

Nora Fanny Rammell married Henry Miles 27th Oct 1928 at Canterbury Reg office. After this date, I can find no further references to them. They were both single and aged 53 & 55 when married so there would be no children. Henry was a carpenter.

I have searched deaths, marriages and 1939 register but to no avail.

Any ideas?

I can only find this birth for Nora, so can't be the right one if she was 53 at marriage.

Do you have any other info on her from the cert please, father's name?

Still doesn't help find Nora Fanny after 1928, though!

Maybe she lived in Ireland after that.

If Norah went by the name Fanny, there are several deaths for a Fanny Miles assuming the informant was a year or so out, one Fanny Miles as a patient to match, Chichester Sussex in 1939.

Where did you get the death and will info of her father Thomas Rammell in India from? Ancestry?

I hadn't searched for a Fanny Miles as she was always Nora in the census. I have been looking but cannot see anything. I would assume that her death would be registered as Nora Fanny.

I forgot to add that Nora's birthday is 8th May 1874 Woolwich.
Her mother was Honora Warner (second marriage). Her father, Thomas Rammell, died in India before she was born. Nora was baptised in Crediton, Devon where her grandmother Fanny Rammell and aunts/uncles lived.

She had an illegitimate daughter also called Nora Fanny Rammell b 11th Nov 1896. Hence 2 births in the GRO index.

No Miles for that birth date showing on the 1939 reg under any combination of first names, Nora/Norah or Fanny
