The Harold who died in Jamaica in 1972 clearly isn't the one living in Cheshire.

However, to answer your questions, Elizabeth -

There are no Harold M McLarens born in Scotland, per ScotlandsPeople.


Re the death in Jamaica - his birthplace is given as St Catherine, so, combined with different YOB, he's almost certainly not your Harold.
Informant was Vincent Richard, present at death - could be just a hospital employee.

If yours is the one in Cheshire, he may have died in 2007 or 2008, just before the house was sold, but if so, his death isn't online yet.

Or he may have moved into a care home.
There's no sign of him on ERs on 192.com

No probate record for him to date.

just had a look at Cheshire BMD only one death and that's a Robert McLaren, in 2013 so not him.
There is about 6 Homes in the area so not much chance of finding him. hay ho
