Trying to find a birth/baptism of above lady. She married to Thomas byrne in 1894. On 1881 census she is down as granddaughter to Thomas Duffy aged 6. On the same household is John Duffy and Emma Duffy who I think is formerly Emma callaghan. This is in Burnley Lancashire. Her birthday is almost certainly 19 March 1875 from the 1939 census. Can anyone out there check to see if they can spot a birth. Supposedly in Bolton. Later on on some sources it seems as though Thomas Duffy was her father not her grandfather. This is noted on her wedding certificate.
I have just had a thought thT perhaps there is another son as well as grandfather named Thomas Duffy. But still does not h we lp with finding her birth on civil registration. Thanks

Just to add, John Duffy and Emma callaghan did not marry until 1876.

And also think that maybe Emma and John Duffy moved to Blackburn around 1883-1885. They may be on the 1891 census in Blackburn. John and Emma both born in the mid to late 1850,s.

what is thomas duffys occupation on the marriage cert

although from the 1881 census it would seem likely that Margaret was John & Emma's daughter, the only Margaret Callaghan born 1875 (+/-2) to an unmarried mother was in Morpeth in 1976 - so not likely to be her.

I would guess she's Thomas and Margaret's daughter, and it's been the enumerator's mistake in 1881 calling her a grand-daughter. Maybe because she was so much younger than those of her siblings who were there in 1881.

Also, the baby Mary J Duffy is John & Emma's child.

Safc, don't think that Margaret elken coukd be mine unless I'm missing something. Her father is Thomas on her wedding cert. Unless he adopted her. And her birthday is degibately 19th March 1875.
