Edwards half brother James mum died. Then Edward mary john and sarah was born to Sarah Barnes. I found in telegraph that brother john died in 26 October 1932, brother james died 16 April 1922 and father James died 20.4.1938. I am trying to trace Edward family to see if I can find anything of Edward which my show his father details birth day to help my research in familytree

It was edwards half brother James born abt 1881 mum who was from glasgow Elizabeth and ive looked through all marriages for James and An Elizabeth in irishgeneolgy but cant find a record that matches their son james birth in ligoneil belfast around the time so i can find her surname. Edward shows in paper notice for his brother john but not dad in 1938.

sorry for confusing you all. I have been looking for alot of years to find details of the armstrongs of edenderry street weir steet to get further back but stuck at the father James armstrong 1862 or1857 ballymena to april 20 1938 belfast

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 1 Feb 2019 22:27

James's age on his death cert fits with his age on 1911 census, so presumably born c1862.

1911 census says he's Presbyterian, while the rest of the family is Church of Ireland. (Just in case that turns out to be a helpful clue to anything!)

I don't see a likely marriage for James and Elizabeth in or near Glasgow in a feasible year.

If Elizabeth's age of 37 in 1901 is correct, she was 19 when James junior was born, so would have to have married 1880-83 - assuming they married before James's birth..

thank you all for helping. Micheal was 1st husband of Sarah i found she married james armstrong 1923 but used name barnes and not mcbarron. I dont know why all ages changes on census in 1901 sancroft st shows 40 for james a cementer shipyard and wifes 37 but on her death burial shows 35 which makes her 2 years younger. would orginal cementry records not have birth. I notice they wrote arnott as surname then crossed out and put armstrong on her city cementry grave record

ArgyllGran Report 1 Feb 2019 23:04

My last post was at the same time as your last one, so you may not have noticed the marriage I posted, where both parties were resident at Ligoneil ??

Bride - Eliza Martin.

Just a possibility.

sharonrose Report 1 Feb 2019 23:11

in titanic employees shows james armstrong 1912 weir st born 1881 engineer so if Eliza Martin may not be the marriage as in 1883 unless james born wrong. I have checked other one before but i know from marriage of James snr in think november 1923 to sarah his dad was James too.
