Find Ancestors

Please could someone do me a look-up for any witnesses for. Margaret Cragg to Richard Abbot' marriage...They were married 13th April1825.. in Ingleton (so I am told) and their daughter Agnes was born in 1830 but died age 2 months..Again so I am told ?

A tree on Ancestry says that his first wife was Margaret Burrow and they married 28 July, 1817, Beetham, Westmorland. It doesn't have a death for her. It says that they had 2 children, Richard 1818 and Robert 1820.

Paul berry sounds a very modern name for that time :-D

I don't actually know her age..i don't really know much abt her at all really..Other than her being the second wife of my Ancestor Richard Abbot* and that she was a widow when she married him...oh and that they had a baby daughter together..Many thanks Dee...This is looking 100%..Thank you :-)

Well my Richard Abbot was born 1792, so I am assuming she would be roughly close to his age just a guess

Re the witnesses on the wedding ...............

I checked the other certificates on the pages, and Paul Berry or Barry's name appears on at least one other certificate ........ the image is very faint on some of them ................ and this could indicate that he was what is known as a professional witness and not related to either Richard or Margaret.


EDIT:- Paul Berry's signature also appears on 3 certificates on the next page, ie after Richard and Margaret's which seems to confirm that he was a professional witness, paid a small sum to do it.
