Re Bessie /Elizabeth's possible death 1938 Kensington - yes, I'd looked at that and thought it was probably the right one.

But not the 1921 marriage, unless they were living together before that as man and wife - they're together on 1919 ER.

But I've completely lost track of all these Franks, and have no idea if Bessie is relevant or not!

What are you trying to find out?

Is the marriage to Sophia the right man? One assumes that the person who asked you to get help has some info about the man’s parents, at least

Rambling Report 25 Apr 2019 12:49

There's a probate 1967 Frank Batty admin to widow Florence,

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

I've not looked for more info on marriage etc, age at death would match the original birth year given

A person born in October 1895 would not be 72 until October 1967

Rambling Report 25 Apr 2019 13:58

True but the birth year is only as good as the informant's knowledge.

Probably not the right one anyway, if the marriage in 1933 is them, ( edit no it isn't) but it's all guess work without more info on who his parents were.

Deaths Mar 1981 (>99%)

EDIT :
This is that couple in 1939 albeit the birth date for Florence is a day out,

Until the OP gives answers about the info posted for the one born 2/10/1875, we're simply guessing

As she has records from her friend's grandfather, there must be more known about him than we've been told.

Thank you all for your time and interest Here is an update I have been in touch with Adrian Batty who's grandfather it is who we are looking for Frank Batty b. 2/10 /1875 13 Kirby Street Hull m. Sophie Biddy b. 1874 Newcastle They had 2 children George Edward Boyd Batty 1896-1972 and Francis Batty 1898-1900. Sophie died 1908.Then Frank disappears. and then turns up again on 1939 census m. to Maisie Batty mmn. Not Known. Not sure what Maisie could be short for. Sorry did not expect you all to be so kind Thank You Frank's father was Daniel Batty and his mother Elizabeth Stokell.

So the info up to the marriage to Sophia is the right man and was already known. As were the names of their children!

Rambling asked in her very first response if you knew his parents’ names........

Maisie is a name in its own right.

No proof he was married to her.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 27 Apr 2019 11:27

We know he didn't die in the Blitz, as he was still at 25 Lockton Street in 1955.

He'd left there by 1958, which seems to be the next record of Lockton Street, Kensington, on the ER, at least per Ancestry.

If his birth was definitely in 1875, and not 1895, by 1955 he was 80.

The only death I can see after 1955, of the right age, is this one:

Deaths Jun 1965 (>99%)
BATTY FRANK 90 Bury 10b 794

As he was estranged from his family, I suppose he could have been living anywhere - but there was a Frank Batty born 1875 in Stockport, so maybe that's his death.

EDIT:

Or maybe this one, which may be more likely re location - if the informant thought his name was really Francis:

Deaths Mar 1957 (>99%)
BATTY Francis 83 Hull 2a 220

(Apologies if already posted. I thought someone had already posted this death, but now I can't see it on the thread.)

The Frank Batty in Stockport married Eliza Ann Bowker 1896 ( she was born 1878 as far as I can see) but they seem to disappear also lol

A third possible death is the 1958 Marylebone one posted by Rose.

EDIT:
But if we discount the Bury one, that seems to bring it down to Hull 1957 or Marylebone 1958

Very much a guess but not finding any matching birth for Maisie, there are a couple of Maisies in Kensington in the electoral rolls for 1938 eg Byrne and O'Rourke who don't appear in the 1939 register or to have married. 'If' as the name suggests they were Irish they might have gone back home after the war had started? Not that this helps with Frank!
