Yes I've got that for Catherine Fox
The births I have for Catherine's siblings
England and Wales Free BMD index
John 1882 Oct-Nov- Dec Lancashire Manchester
Annie 1888 Jul-Aug- Sept
and the GRO for Mary

I do know that John Catherine Annie and Mary where siblings
info got from a relation bit older than me related to Mary, and I know about Annie as she went to Canada and I remember coming to see us I referred to her as Auntie Annie from Canada

Annie GRO 1888 Apr-may-Jun No MMN Chorlton

OND 1882 is too late for John if his age is correct on censuses
And the MMN is Carroll as per GRO

No MMN on GRO means illegitimate

As already said, I couldn't find a common mms for the children in either 1891 or 1901 censuses - IF either or both are the correct family.

I found Mary with mms Fox - but no Catherine, John or Annie with mms Fox - nor with any other common mms, assuming ages as given in the censuses +/-2 .

There's this birth - but wrong place:

KELLY, JOHN mms FOX
GRO Reference: 1880 S Quarter in LEEDS Volume 09B Page 426

and this - but wrong place and too early:

KELLY, ANNIE mms FOX
GRO Reference: 1887 S Quarter in SHEFFIELD Volume 09C Page 458

I saw Annie 1888 Chorlton No MMN

I'm thinking I'm going to have to get a certificate but It's which one to get we have

Mary with MMN Fox ,
Annie 1888 J Quarter No MMN Not sure on
John Their is one 1882 but it's John Alfred M Quarter Manchester no MMN

I think we've done as much as we can trying to determine who the mother really is

As Erika said a couple of posts ago, if there is no mmn, it means it was an illegitimate birth, and the child has the mother's maiden surname -

i.e. -
the mother of Annie 1888 was a Miss Kelly.
and the same for John Alfred.

I misunderstood I thought it was because it was an early one and they didn't have to put the MMN on ? Where did it say Miss Kelly for future reference

ErikaH

It doesn’t say MISS Kelly, but as the child was illegitimate, it is obvious that the mother wasn’t married.

And the GRO index has MMN on the records from day one (July 1837), as the info is on certs from that date.
