Hi Erikha - talk about keeping it in the family - yes your right in saying Mabel married her stepfather's son. I also tried looking for Marjories 2nd marriage to Laming but do you think because we can't find the evidence that maybe he was just a partner as opposed to a legal marriage?

Marjorie obviously took the name Laming - officially, somehow - in 1946, but without a record of a marriage, the circumstances may never be known.

A possible avenue of research would be to get a copy of the 1950 marriage cert for Marjorie's address - then check the Electoral Roll for preceding years to see if she's listed, and who she's with. At least that would give you a name

The ER is searchable only by address and will be held at the main public library for the area - or maybe at the county Records Office.
