Can we just confirm -
When was your Charles born?? Who were his parents?

You've said c1880, and also 1878 - but there's no birth of a Charles Henry Goodlass in either of those years.

ArgyllGran Report 20 Feb 2022 16:31

As already said - the 1898 man was still single in 1939.

I think your Charles in the one born 1885.

Here he is in 1939:

Charles H Goodlass
in the 1939 England and Wales Register
Name: Charles H Goodlass
Gender: Male
Marital Status: Married
Birth Date: 15 Dec 1884
Residence Date: 1939
Address: 42 Aspen Grove
Residence Place: Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Occupation: Stevedore Heavy Worker
Line Number: 25
Schedule Number: 25
Sub Schedule Number: 1
Enumeration District: NHNI
Borough: Liverpool
Registration district: 453-5
Inferred Spouse:
Mary Goodlass
Household Members Age
Charles H Goodlass 55
Mary Goodlass 58

I'm still inclined to think your Charles is with Mary and Ronald in 1921, but just not transcribed.
But you'd need to see the image in order to know if that's correct or not.

ArgilleGran

I do have the 1921 census printout, and he's not on it, very strange.
