Good luck with the acupuncture, Stevie. Only tried it once, myself, for sciatca, and, in that case, it was't v. successful. However, have heard great reports about its effectiveness from other people. Guess it's just one of those alternatives that works better for some than others. |

Hi Stevie I tried it for Sciatica, and it did help although not straight away. I was in agony with the pain and it did take the edge off. |

Hi Terry, yes thats where they inject steriods into the facet joints. I had that done on both back & neck........not on the same day......Back had no affect, but neck proceedure helped. |

I've had acupuncture once for a neck problem . A doctor from my local practice had just been learning the technique and was eager to try it out. |

I had acupuncture a few years ago for back pain... I have to say that some of the needles did hurt a bit... and in one session the pin in my elbow was extremely painful. But it worked, and after about 3 or 4 sessions I was considerably better. They also *cupped* me, and I had grains taped to my earlobes which I was to press whenever the pain started, but I found it difficult to sleep as the grains fet like boulders once my head hit the pillow. I had 10 sessions in all... the last 6 or 7 spaced at monthly intervals. I also had some disgusting stuff to drink.... yukkety yukkety yuk!! But my back and joints felt so much better. |

We do sometimes pain relief by injecting salt water just under the skin of the back. |

Hi, after trying umpteen treatments for agonising back pain I had acupuncture treatment some while ago, I went along, without much faith, because nothing else had worked, After three sessions I noticed a real improvement, had another three and then didn't need any more for a year. It didn't cure the problem but I think it's the best thing since sliced bread!!! If I were young enough, and in labour I would happily use it for pain relief. Hope all goes well |
