Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 22 Apr 2009 01:17

Hi Daff,

wish mine was as well trained, I do say I will meet you back at so and so, or I will come back to this bay or whatever, but it doesn't work because he doesn't concentrate. Tuesday was his second day off work, they are making them take bank days as a way of cutting costs when there is overtime to be done, long story but at least he is still in work. He swore he would finish some of the work in the bathroom, started Nov 2007! Well when I got up around 1.20pm I said I wanted to go out later on and would I be able to use the bathroom, Oh he says, I haven't done anything in there yet (as if I hadn't noticed) I can't get motivated, he said, and would rather go out as the weather is so nice! So as we only have one car on the road at the mo, I had to curtain my plans and we went to the coast, only a 40 min drive but by the time he had faffed about we didn't get there till past 5!!!! He is getting worse with his memory, it's a route he has driven hundreds of times but he couldn't remember it so I had to direct him. We hadn't been there ten minutes, just time for his jaunt to the loo, obligatory after driving lol, when the sea mist rolled in so we walked along the valley behind the dunes looking at all the holiday bungalows and checking out a couple we have stayed in and then walked back to get a burger, naughty but nice and a cuppa before coming home again lol Rather a waste of petrol really for such a sort visit, 2 hrs we were there and not a lot less travelling time but it made a change and kept him in a good mood.

I had a problem getting on line Monday late evening and sent a message to gr as there was a number to quote to report the problem, got a rather ineffective message back but by then I had been online and forgotten about the hiccup lol

You take care and steady with the washing, you sound like me kicking stuff down the stairs, but watch you don't lose your balance, I almost did one day and nearly followed the lot down lol

love

Fog here this morning but I am hoping it will clear to a nice day later, the last two days have been lovely. OH playing golf - goodness knows how they see the ball!!!
May just have to send another message Daff, but i wanted an e mail to respond to as I find that way you get a better response. I usually put it for Estelle's attention then I know it will be looked at properly.

Morning all... still got the bad tummy, so painkillers at the ready!! I have a load of darks in the washer, have sorted out all my pills and potions and tucked them away up high... granddaughter coming to stay next week and I don't want any nasty accidents, I have been keeping them in a big plastic boot box on the kitchen worktop, far too easy for inquisitive hands to reach. Most of them need to go back to the pharmacy now.

I have phoned the clinic, as the pain has been so bad... it is quite normal, some people do get severe pains when they come off this drug (Norethisterone). Trust me to be one of them!! They said I could start taking them again, and gradually reduce the dose, but also said that I might end up having almost the same pain but stretched out over a long period... plus, I'm a cold turkey sort of girl, lol.... I gave up smoking that way, it's all or nothing with me!!

Anyone know which is stronger... Paramol or Tramadol? Tramadol made me feel very peculiar, as I recall... needed to take it for my back during the first lot of chemo. High as a kite, I was!!

I am being such a whinge bucket, lol!!

Weather is a bit overcast here, too, but the sun is trying to break through so hopefully it will be lovely later on.

Well, must get on.... washing will finish soon and I will need to hang it up.

I bet no-one else has a posh washing line like mine, lolol... it is a rotary one, but because we haven't decided where it's permanent home is going to be.... I have stuck it into the large umbrella base, and stuck a couple of paving slabs over it to help keep it stable.... very Heath Robinson, lol But it works very well indeed! And before the cats (all right, Jethro) killed the gazebo that R used to have his ciggy under... if the weather was bad R would move the line under that so's washing would still have a bit of a blow outside... clever, eh??? lol

Might go and see what is happening elsewhere in cyberworld!!

Love

Afternoon Daff. Sorry you are still suffering. I am the same with Tramadol...it makes me feel very weird so whenever I need a painkiller I would prefer Paramol or similar. I am also hiding my medicines and hair dy..er..shampoos and stuff as my two arrive tomorrow. For nearly a week! It will be lovely, as you well know, and their ickle beds are all made up...awwww......and their feckless parents are sodding off into the sunset...again! LOL...so I think lots of park picnics and the Zoo and stuff...and my secret weapon....the TV! As they dont have one in their home...hehee...

Beautiful day here, have been up a ladder on the patio hammering nails in to put wire to keep the jasmine in control! It has gone bananas lately..but not a bird in sight...not even a pigeon...tsk tsk.....

Am using delay tactics by being on here. I should be out shopping for child things and fish fingers and smarties and such...lol...catch you later. BCXX

Hiya Ann...... R was going to do that tonight for me... he has the others from when I was in hospital tucked away in a folder somewhere.... he does soooooo love to encrypt and password protect everything, lolol That'll save him a job, thank you.

wmsl BC... My little doll doesn't have a car, so if all else fails a drive out works wonders with her, lol..... she is coming next week for almost a week.... will have to ask next Wednesday when I'm at the clinic if I can go to the zoo yet. I'll have to go to Bristol, though, so it might be a bit too far, at the moment. Still, I have ordered a sandpit/water play thingy... can be used indoor or outdoors, we have the ball pit, plus the tunnels with connecting little tent thingys... and then there's the pushchair, the scooter, and all the noisy things. Oh and her favourite game of find the cat!! She isn't interested in Jethro... he LIKES to be with her so isn't any fun, lol So I hope she'll be well occupied!! It is lovely when they come to stay... son is staying too, he isn't *coughs* sodding off up a mountain, lolololol!! I wish!!

~~~~ waves to mamiddau, Prynhawn dda i chi!!
Hiya Maz ~~~~~~ Yuk, dentist!
Better go downstairs and peel some potatoes... at least that'll look as though I have dinner under control, lolol!! Not sure what to do with it... I have some diced chicken out. I will go and be inventive, I think, lololol
I received a reply from Alex saying the thread cannot be reinstated. GR would not remove....unless inapprop. comments or unsuitable for the message board. (abbreviated by me).
My reply: You have not answered the question of which t&c had been breached or which comment or message was inappropriate. GR need to be more forthcoming in answers to such questions, otherwise, how can we know what we should not put on the threads? Nobody who contributed to/read the thread could think of anything that should not have been there. It is not good enough to zap a thread just because some miserable person does not like all the sympathy and support another member is getting.
I wonder if I will get another answer?
Huia.
ps I am thinking of hitting the Review button on one of GRs sticky threads, to see what happens.
Huia we are treading in each other's footsteps so to speak. I had exactly the same reply from alex to my e mail which was addressed to Estelle and none of my questions was answered. I wonder how they would like it if they sent a complaint to a large company and all they got back was utter rubbish???
I too have sent another email
lollololol Huia.... I wonder!! It has been there for a while, hasn't it?!! And you are absolutely right... they have slapped our wrist by pulling the thread, told us we have broken the rules of the game... but not which rules have been broken!! Imagine top sportspeople trying to compete under the same flipping rules... *sighs*
~~~~~~~ waves to Ann...

Hiya Tina...... Paramol takes most of it away, enough for me to sleep, anyway... I feel like a right whinger... I always used to *work* through them.... energetic stuff, not your normal swearing...... and that always made me feel more comfortable... can't play that game at the moment, though, *sighs heavily* I decided to give the Tramadol a miss..... I have hundreds of them, too, and only used about 6!!

Off to wander the boards for 10 minutes... then bed. The cats are already fighting for the best spot, lol!

Love and ((((hugs)))))

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
I forwarded a cute email I received (puppy bouquets) to 3 people on my list and found to my horror that it had also gone to Genes accounts. I promptly sent them an email telling them to ignore it as GR did not deserve any bouquets for deleting a popular thread.

Morning Daff,~~~
Sorry I wasnt around yesterday, but was wandering around Swansea shops with my visitor.
Right heres the latest update, which is as clear as mud to me.

Dear Taff

thanks for your email. I am really sorry, but unless I know exactly who was reported on the thread, then I cannot give you an exact reason as to why it was deleted. Whilst we keep records of deleted threads, these are only against the members whose posts have been reported to us.

As we have previously explained to you, we would generally only delete a whole thread if we felt it was becoming argumentative and getting out of hand.

I am sorry if this has upset you, but please feel free to start another one.

Best regards,

Estelle
Genes Reunited Support Team

So, as far as I can make out, some kind soul reported the thread?
Anyway Love as always

Well at last you have had a reasonable reply from Estelle which is not just a copy of loads of others. She is obviously allowed to think fr herself!

I still don't know why, if somebody reports a thread they a) can't give notice to the thread owner that it is about to be deleted and b) why they can't delete the offending post not the whole thread. And finally c) if they check and find nothing wrong why can't they say so and leave it? Do they check though, they say they do but it is so easy to just delete!

I have a sneaky suspicion that this was the work of somebody who was being malicious, somebody jealous of the attention that daff was getting.

Oh well, don't let them get us down!!!
