Morning Daff, from wet, windy, sunny and cloudy Swansea..LOL
I wish the weather would make its mind up, then I could stop changing clothes!
Daff, Have you tried "Advocate" on your cats? I swear Frontline doesnt work, so I tried this stuff instead( on the cat that is, not myself!) She seems fine today, no scatching in places she couldnt reach, So fingers crossed.
I hope your still taking it easy, and pleased to read your butcher done you proud!( should I rephrase that?).
Love as Always,

One minute it is baking... next it is blummin freezin with a sharp wind blowing around yer vitals, lol And it rained a bit, too!!

R is outside digging over a tough patch... he is totally ignoring my sledgehammer hints that the soil just there is going to require lots of organic matter..... wasn't that a polite way of saying well rotted horse whoopsie? Lolol.... but he'll be sorry he didn't, cos nuffink is gonna grow there well, otherwise... it used to have a patio area, and then a shed, so full of good solid clay plus concrete (loose not solid) and sand... it needs the manure!! And me with all the plants neatly laid out ready to go in. Why won't men listen to you? Grrrrr!! He should be zooming off to the garden centre right now to buy the stuff!!

It is at times like this that I get a bit impatient... normally I'd have snuck off myself and got it, but I can't!! I wouldn't want to risk it just yet.

I have weeded three of the beds... you can tell R is not normally the gardener... he painstakingly goes around with a trowel lifting individual weeds (he still hasn't done what I asked of him a week or so ago, which was to zap some of the more tenacious weeds with proper weedkiller, only way to get rid of!! Again, I can't do it) but I have had the hand and the long claw out... half the time, and it has aerated some of the impacted soil ready for watering, fertilising and mulching at the same time. I have a few bags of bark to go down once all the plants from the front have been transferred to their temporary homes. But P will do that... he does as he's told or I won't pay him, lolol!!

Right, moan over... off to find something to occupy me that doesn't involve supervising a truculant husband/gardener!!

Love

ps, Taff, no I haven't. Do you get it from the vet or from one of the big pet stores?

Afternoon Daff. I read your post in a hurry and was alarmed to see you weed in three beds and poor R is truncated.....lolol.....but seriously though, you must find it very frustrating as you just want to get down and dirty, and you cannot just yet. And most men don't like to be told how do do things...*sighs....never mind:-) All fine here, afternoon naps for the babes, and then more jolly outings..the sun is shining right now but has been cloudy most of the day.

Bye for now. mwahhh BC XX

Morning all... I have a cob on me this morning, so get yer flak jackets ready!!

Mr D still hasn't zapped the weeds which need zapping... and now wants to turn those bits over so he can plant stuff into it (we did go out and buy 6 bags of well rotted etc etc yesterday eventually) but what bit about *if you dig that over before you've killed the weeds, you'll never manage to find all the little traile thingies, and in a week or so... zap, we'll have treble the amount of weeds* doesn't he understand!! and with vulnerable plants at risk from weed killer drifting onto them.

So, I have found my heavy duty mask, and goggles, some very old clothes that I'll chuck, and I am damned well going to do it myself!! Grrrr!!

Well, I'll get myself all ready... and when he sees my get up....... he'll realise that I'm as mad as a disgruntled wasp!! And get on and do what I asked and explained about a week or so ago!!

I'll be back later, lolol

Love

Lol.... out he went, quiet as a lamb... even made me a cuppa before he went!!.... he did call me a manipulating witch, but in a fond way, lol... We are speaking, no armed neutrality... all those trailing and deep tap rooted weeds have now been zapped, and he is now turning the area we prepared yesterday, ready to receive the plants I am currently watering well.. at a distance, as I have just left the sprinkler on them, lol I have come in to start peeling veg for dinner.... and snuck up here, lol!!

So it's all safe, and now hunky dory... why couldn't he have just done it when I said in the first place?? *sigh* You'd think after 37 years of marriage he'd have learned, lol ;¬))

Suppose I'd better go back and whisper more words of encouragement, lol!! We don't want him planting the hollyhocks at the front, and the little plants at the back now, do we??

I'll be back later!

God afternoon all, including Daff. Just home from daughters, had a lovely weekend, two out of three Grandsons were there plus one girlfriend. Evita was very good and afterwards we met up with a riend of daughter and SiL's at the Cafe bar over the road ( an old church) and sat outside in the sun with a bottle of white wine.

Hello Ann!! So pleased you had a good time! Missed you mind, but I won't tell you that, lolol..... blummin 'eck, you're off for a whole month soon!!

My garden (one little bit of, lol) is now well planted up.... it should look fabulous in a few weeks... has hollyhocks, foxgloves, a maple (red) photinia Red Robin, one I've lost the label for but it is a type of cotoneaster with sagey-green variegated leaves.. penstemon, celosia, geranium (cranesbill, not the fancy ones) and some daisy type chrysanths. I will get some annuals to put into the gaps when I see where those gaps are going to be, lolol It will need some more white in it to lift it... a bit of allyssum in the front might do the trick. *sigh* don't you just love it when it starts coming together?

Well.. off to sit outside for a while, the sun is now shining properly.... I shall admire R's hard work. And he has worked hard on it, fair play.

Evening Daff:-) Glad to hear you have sorted the truncated R out and got your own way...lol....I got a lovely surprise today to find one of my 'mystery' plants emerged as the most beautiful pink Columbine! (I looked it up)...everything in my patio is blooming because of the hot weather. Had another lovely day with my two Angels...and tomorrow is the Zoo... timed to see the feeding of the Penguins! I do hope F does not escape my clutches and run with the lions or summat......nighty night all....am off to pour a glass of wine. mwahhh BC XX.
