AnninGlos Report 1 May 2009 16:32

Baby P's 'stepfather' is facing a life sentence today after being convicted of raping a two-year-old girl.

The girl, like the 17-month-old toddler who can now be called Peter, was on the Haringey Council child protection register.
The rape allegation only came to light and her ordeal ended when the 32-year-old man and Peter's 27-year-old mother were arrested for his death.
The man's latest conviction is certain to raise serious questions about the role of social

If you believe history books, such atrocities occur in every generation & the general public reacted in a similar manner every time.

But, that's no comfort to those suffering now - just a comment about the 'badness' throughout the ages. Do you believe we will not read about these items many times in our own life span?

An eye for an eye. Whatever he had done should be done to him. Then leave him in a bricked up cell to rot. What punishment is that - life, no punishment at all, everything laid on a plate for him.

how sad for that poor little girl scarred for life how long will he serve of his sentence and then probably come out and abuse more children how can you say at the end of his sentence he paid for what he did to those children makes my blood boil

They can chemically castrate this form of low life - however I think this creature deserves more...
Hopefully he'll get it in prison...

if they are looking for someone to put a bullet in his head I'm happy to do it - and if anyone is offended by my comment, tough!!!

What sort of 'man' regularly tortures a 17 month old boy and then rapes a 2 year old?
He's no man - he's indescribable.
And for social workers not to find any problems in a situation like this - makes you wonder what sort of life the social workers live/believe is normal!!
Social worker lives down my road - I would never speak /shout to/at my children - or even a dog - like she does hers. Even my grand daughter aged 5 at the time asked me why she was shouting at her children like that!

maggie (not the best mother/grandmother in the world)

Maggie, those social workers have a lot to answer for, many are so hopeless and live in a different world, and seem able to shut their eyes to children suffering. If I were you, I would have reported that woman near you a long time ago, she isn't fit to be a mother and obviously not fit to do her job if she can't cope with her own family well.

I don't know how these people can live with themselves with the cruelty they inflict on small children, that man will get all he deserves and more in prison, I hope, unless he spends all his time in solitary and even then someone will find a way.

They should put him in that nursing home I read about where an old man was nibbled by mice, let the mice at that evil bar steward while he has no clothes on....

take care
Lizx

May that little girl have a better life and be helped to cope with all that has happened to her.

I have always maintained that I do not support the death penalty - having just seen the BBC news coverage of this story, I would make an exception for baby P's stepfather

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 2 May 2009 09:37

Liz - already done!
Before the family moved in down the road, a woman across the road used to child mind for her, and whenever their mother came to pick them up, the children used to cry and run away - strange reaction! The language - at 98 decibels - that the mother used was awful. Then they moved in.
I met a LSA from the school, whom I've known a long time and expressed my concerns to her. She said the school were already on to it - and then she told me the mother was a Social worker!!!
My friend knows if the school decides to go further, I will be an 'outside' witness.

Sally Report 2 May 2009 16:30

I think most of you have said what I wanted to about that particular piece of filth who calls himself a man......

......when I heard, it crossed my mind about the Chief Social Worker of Haringay?.....I think......who tried to get herself reinstated and to claim compensation for unfair dismissal........and that was when Baby P. came to light.......and not the further horror with the little girl......

.....how dare she even lift her head above the parapet.......Social Workers do a good job on the whole, not one which I would be any good at because I would want to punch the lights out of people who abuse children......but to be in such denial, when she is in charge......it beggars belief.......

I won't go on, I am so angry....

Sally, I couldn't believe the arrogance of that woman, Shoesmith is her name?, who wanted to appeal against her sacking, she should be hiding away somewhere, I hope she can sleep at night knowing her staff helped those children stay where they were being abused so badly.

Maggie, let's hope something is done soon for the children of that b***h who doesn't deserve to be a mother. Keep us posted if you can without letting too much away if she gets investigated.
