I have two favourite places... well, no, three, actually, lolol

Where I am now... I love my house, my garden and the woods and trees at the side and back of my fences... I am very, very happy here.

If I won an awful lot of pennies, I'd build a house near Newgale Beach, my very very favourite beach of all time, full of happy memories... someone brought me, amongst other, lovely gifts... a pebble from Newgale... I have it right next to me!!

3rd place is Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire... I lived just outside, once, and loved my time there. If we had to move back, I would be perfectly content.

First time visit? The isle of Man, I think, or Woolacombe..

I have some fond memories of Bala. There's a place in Scotland on the West coast that I'd like to visit :-)

You'd be more than welcome if you are in this area... truly!!

Bala... *sigh* I spent two weeks there in... oh dear, such a long time ago.. it was with the Urdd, and I was 13...... I canoe'd up and down the lake... spent more time clambering back in, cos the boys kept capsizing us, lol

Memories... I think the place is a hotel, now! Oh and I bought my first ever record from there... by the Marmalade... Oh Bla dee Oh blah Dah!! lololol

Snowdonia for me/ The wildness of the mountains and the green beauty of the valleys is absolutely breathtaking.

Lucky for me my OH is part Welsh and would love to live there again, so if we ever get to win the lottery we're off. I'll soon persuade him that the North is a better option than Swansea *ahem*

I have also two favourite places. My precious back garden, so dull of colour, and enclosed. The other place is my place of childhood, also on the West Coast of Scotland, or should I say off the west coast, Rothesay, Isle of Bute. The place I would like most to visit is the Scilly Isle, for all the gardens and plants

Favourite sight: Seeing the White cliffs of Dover from a boat returning to England.

Where I would like to go: Dunnet Head, Caithness, the most northerly point on the British mainland.

Julie my GGmother was born in Alferton

Julia Report 11 Jul 2009 16:35

Hayley, Alfreton is on my door step, about 5 miles away. Often go there shopping, in fact, possibly going this week. It boasts the only book shop for miles, and you can get paperbacks from way back for £2.99.
One of my favourite pubs there is advertising a new Salad Bar, so we thought we would try it one lunch time, as good an excuse as any to go. If I can help in any way, please let me know

Julia in Derbyshire

PS. Have also lived there some 40 years ago.

Havoc - know all the places you mention. Heanor and Langley, are where I live now. If I can do anything to help, please let me know.

For me it has to be where I have lived most of life and that is Pembrokeshire just far to many places to name on here, it might be easier to list the not so good places in the county lol

Julia

Julia Report 11 Jul 2009 18:00

Havoc and Hayley, my offer still stands, if I can do anything to help, I will only be too glad. Perhaps, when you are ready, you can PM me the details, if they are too personal to put on the boards
Off until tomorrow now
Best Regards
