now that might seem a daft question, but I don't think so.

In days gone past people accepted but some moved on ( aren't we pleased about that )

So are YOU happy with your life or do you feel you could have changed it ?

I feel happy with mine, some times we all have struggles of one type or another to face but I made very big changes to my life about five years ago, left the rat race of the city and 13 day hours, moved to the West Country and changed my job and lifesyle. Financially I am poorer, but on a level of happiness with my freinds and family I have never been richer.

It was hard at first, but the best thing I ever did and I would recommend it, but not say its an easy path to tread.

The fact that it's normally the females that keeps a happy home is another thread

Fundamentally, I am happy with my life. I'm not sure that I have worked for it though.

Make up your mind Welshy because you wrote the following on another thread only minutes ago:

"I could get nasty and start insulting you but I won't go down to your level."

Who is this Welshy? Seems like someone who likes to stir - and obviously not really Welsh. All of the other Welsh people on these boards are nice people.

Welshy - your first sentence sounds like you are a very spiteful person and your second comment sounds like you have a guilty conscience.

To answer the original question. Yes, I'm reasonably happy with my life. I feel a little cheated because I lost my soul-mate, but I have got on with my life and I'm thankful for the 34 years we had together. Now, my children have partners and have given me grandchildren and although I wish he could have known them, there is nothing that can be done about it, so I don't dwell on it.

Yes I'm happy with my life. There have been some low moments when things have not gone as well as I would like but we've worked through it as a family and come out the other end. They have been the normal challenges that most families face.

Lindy

Lindy Report 17 Jul 2009 10:51

At this age in my life I am happy with my life but will be happier once we have finally settled somewhere permanently, regardless of where that somewhere is.

The longest we have ever lived in one house is our current home and have been here for the last seven years now.

Three years ago we put our home on the market due to the crises nobody is buying. The older I get the more difficult it has become for me to "up sticks."

Lindy ;))

UzziAndHerDogs Report 17 Jul 2009 11:07

Lindy like you I have had a habit of moving about I have now lived in my van for 5yrs which is an equal record with my last pub. I do intend on moving again but will stay on the campsite ( I think ). Part of my joy in life was moving or at least the planning of it, but I have found as I get older then the less I want to up sticks again.

I think I am very,very Lucky,I thank God everyday ,I have a truely wonderful life(I think So).
The only problem Is I often think my lifes so great that I worry and think nothing lasts for ever,I soon snap out of it though.
But its true isnt it,nothing does last for ever so you should make every day count:-)

Portland rose, I couldn't help myself, Uzzi started this with her spiteful comments towards me then deleted the thread so nobody could see her wicked comments.
There's always 2 sides to an arguement, people on this thread have only seen one, so until you are aware of all the facts please refrain from judging me

I'm happy with my life on the whole. This year has been awful (and not over yet) and although its been emotional and traumatic at times, my life on the whole has been great. There are some things I think with hindsight I might have done differently (actually do work at uni for one......I got a decent degree, so I might have had an awesome one if i'd been less drunk!!!!) I've a lot to be grateful for, and I keep thinking of those things when other things are getting on top of me!

UzziAndHerDogs

UzziAndHerDogs Report 17 Jul 2009 12:12

Mammiddau but if you got an awesome degree it might have altered your life now.
I think we could all look back and say if only. Berona and others like you I am sorry that you have lost your soul-mate, but pleased that you can smile for the times you did have.
