Sorry Rose. I had earache once and it was a pain in the butt so I should be more sympathetic!

Hot water bottle? That might help.

Wrap up warm - try not to sleep on the worst ear and yes, go to the doctor!

It means you should have been on antibiotics before now. Get to a doctor!

RR. As it's the weekend, you won't see a gp, but call NHS24, who will advise you. They may advise you seek medical attention at your local hospital, or the out of hours service.

If you have to go out, remember to put cotton wool in your ears.

propper advice on its way,

1) use seperate flannels etc when washing to prevent cross contamination ( spreading infections from one ear to the other)
2) yes do sleep on the bad ear
3) take regular pain relief ( those containing ibuprofen will help reduce inflamation)
4) see a doctor if symptoms persist

i do sympathise as I suffered with this as a child>
