I was shocked when I saw the news and realised a TV only 10 years old caused the blaze in the block of flats

me bedroom telly is usually left on stand by coz i put it on sleep for 30 minutes n fall asleep with it on lol

oh havent herd about the fire :(

I usually watch tv in bed for a wee while before I go to sleep. I just put it off by the remote though.
Saying that the two down stairs are always plugged in too.

We did have one years ago and it was on at the time when smoke started to come out the back. We were there at the time luckily.

Stray it was the high rise flat fire where 5/6 people died.

But did they say how the other flats caught alight as i wondered if it was through the heating vents, them kind of flats have them things

I just thought if im taping i don't need to leave the TV plugged in, but i do tend to wait a bit while it cools down before i go to bed

I don't unplug my TV ( too difficult - plug's behind a unit) but I don't leave it on standby - I turn it off at the TV.
Do you all turn your computer off at the mains?
