Whilst looking through 'My Contacts' I found that one person had five separate account numbers, and another had three.

Was it at different times? Maybe they let their subs run out and had to join again.
I can understand people having two if they have two different families - such as adopted people - but five!?!

I have my Mum's side, Dad's side and my OH's Mum's and Dad's sides all on my tree. Perhaps I could have four trees, or even two - one for me and one for OH - but I wouldn't be bother paying the money. I just add them on and I have no problem moving around the tree.

can Non - paying members get on a contacts list?
can non payers have 5 accounts?
I guess so if THEY are contacted by a paying member first?

Julia

Julia Report 13 Aug 2009 12:10

No, there was no lapse in time to suggest one account was closed and another opened later, it was consecutive replies. One other thought has just dawned on me. It these are accounts in the name we know them by on here, do they have other accounts, using different names also. Sort of non de plumes

Wouldn't they HAVE to have five different boardnames? Aren't all of our boardnames individual?

If this is so, then they could still change them around; swap them over, etc. Just how many people do we have doing this? Are they all as devious as the ones we already know?

Yes Budgie, that is what I did. Didn't know about the 'IN BOX'.
My name is who I am in real life, I added the Derbyshire bit, because when I first came on her there was a plethora of Julia,Julie, Jules etc, and I thought it would save any confusion. I really do live in Derbyshire.

Hello Julia,

Am I supposed to be shocked?

Well I am not....lol

Sue (with one account)

Julia Report 13 Aug 2009 12:37

To tell the truth Sue, I was rather go smacked. I know alot of people have more than one account, for whatever reasons. And some are infamous for it. The one with five I was quite surprised at, I would never had thought it, so to speak. But the one with three I was not surprised at.

Could this be due to the case a short while ago that personal names were being shown against contact names? some people use maiden names in their accounts and several members amended their folio..

and I often get replies from the same person where different "Aliases "come out

5 accounts...... maybe they have different parts o their own tree or OH's tree on here ..... maybe they have money to burn, as long as the accounts are not used to harm others, let them spend their money on what they wish......

Me - one account, one part of my own tree

I think that you have hit the nail on the head, Bob. If Julia's very surprised at one of the 'culprits', then there is probably a rational explanation. Also, some years ago, people often used to change their boards names without any sinister intent.
