The rules I personally have no problem with.

I am forever Intrigued by how some members interpret them, and at times totally bewildered at GR's application.

I agree, Tony. I have often seen "Please don't communicate anything that is, or could be considered, abusive, vulgar, offensive or threatening – your behaviour must be polite, patient, and not intended to cause (or capable of causing) trouble or offence to other members." being ignored somehow and yet I don't think, if you report any messages, you get anything other than the standard "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, the post has been removed" e-mail.

Weird. There was something else - which I was sure was against the terms and conditions (but I can't remember what it was) - that, when I looked at the guidelines didn't get a mention at all. Wish I could remember what!

What if two or more members are typing at the same time? How would they know?

Hi Maggie

A very good question!

Moving on to the meaning of life, and other, more mundane things........

I have had the odd scout of the rules. But I'm sure the rules were re-written on GR two or three months ago.

Rules are open to interpretation, whether as a poster, or by staff of GR.
People are people & someones view point can be offensive to another. But with so many people of different views, many a discussion on, something that at 1st hand are middle of the road topics. Have turned into recrimination & RR pressing, simply because it didn't fit someones view point.

Sitting behind a keyboard can be empowering. Some people will use it just to say something nasty, just because they can.
But also it gives you the time to think, portray & say something without being spoken over or unheard.

For myself, as I think I should be & would like to be heard as... Is polite, understanding, good humoured & tolerant.
