Sorry to hear that Eddie had a rough night Mummo. This will be a long road for you all. Just take things, one step & one day at a time.

Its good that your daughter is there with you at this time. It's as important as the treatment he's receiving. That you are well & strong to help him through the days ahead.

(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Morning Mummo.... I do hope that you find Eddie much improved when you go to see him today.... he'll still be very sore, as all the bruising from such a nasty fall will be coming out, now..... but hopefully he'll feel a tiny bit better every day.

Gentle ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) for the three of you

Hi all, sorry but am feeling so down..........just popped home as Ed isn't to good and they have taken him for another CT Scan, they think he has a chest infection and thats not good for someone that has to lie quite flat, also this morning he had a irregular heart beat but they have stabilized that and early they put him back on a oxygen mask ( he was on that one that has two little bits that go at the botton of the nose) sorry not a good discription but now they have changed it again to a nubulizer as he needs more oxygen in his blood ( l think l've got that right), god my head is spinning trying to remember everything they tell me.
When he presses the button to release the pain killer it is morphin that goes straight into his blood stream (think Ann ask me the that one, lol.)
Sorry that l'm being so down but its so hard to see someone you love laying there like he is, it just seems we are going backwards rather than forwards but l will pick myself back up but need some digs to help me.
Thanks for all your support, xxxx

PS am going back up the hospital now so hope you all have a good evening, x

Awww Mummo sorry you are all having such a tough time.

Can't say much to help but sending (((hugs)))), will say that a college friend of mine fell off the roof ( he was a roofer) and broke his back..but made an excellent recovery , takes a bit of time.

MrDaff Report 29 Nov 2009 17:20

Aw Mummo.... (((((((hugs))))))) for you. He will look as though he is *going backwards* for a little while.... chest infections will always be a problem when the lung has been punctured... they will have him on antibiotics as well, soon if not already, via a vein (IV) I expect he has a gadget in his neck.... looks very alarming, but once it is in, it isn't really uncomfortable at all... it is called a central line.... if he doesn't have one, they may put one in.... don't worry about it, honestly... I had two, and a Hickman line, lol.... they were my best friends for a while. ;¬)) (Not all at the same time, I hasten to add!!)

The gadget Eddie has for his morphine they usually refer to as a driver, I think... mine was set to deliver a shot automatically every 5 minutes... anti sickness though, not morphine... Eddies will be slightly different, as he controls it himself.

He will feel more uncomfortable for a little while, cos all the bruising will be coming out.... remember how we ache after a bump, or a bit of unaccustomed exercise? Well, poor Eddie has taken one hell of a tumble... and he has probably pulled and bruised more muscles than he knew he had. So he will be sorer for a few days, and he will also stiffen a bit, because he has to stay so still... our bodies are just not geared for staying still... that will cause him extra muscle ache... so don't be too despondent if he seems to ache more... it is bound to do so!!

((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) for the three of you
