The cost of the weddings *faints*....

I found it strange that the girls could wear really revealing clothing to attract a potential husband but were chaste.

I am sure OH's lot who were travellers couldn't have afforded such extravagances.

Sue,seeing the girls in skimpy clothes , but as you say being 'chaste' the thought occured to me that a traveller especially an Irish one would want to see how a horse looked before buying but he wouldn't want one that had been ridden to death. :)

I do hope no one takes that as offensive, it is meant to be a compliment :)

Rose: lmao at 'ridden to death' lol!! I know Joan to type 'hello' to on messenger, shes ok now. Nice girl, she says the scars were exaggerated, all you get are scratches on your waist not bone deep slashes lol. Sammy-Jo is having a baby now. I hope they repeat it, what an eye opener!

I watched it last night as I missed the day before.

I have always been fascinated by Gypsies and loved watching it, there was another one about 3 years ago that was just as good.

I am of Irish descent ....I'm pretty sure my lot must have been Gypsies ,
We once had a traveler delivering a car to my neighbour and turned out to be a Irish Gypsy, I ended up talking to him for a hour as my neighbour was not in.
I loved it learned all about his family life !! LOL
A wonderful man.

Well that's the only one I have ever spoken to.

hi romany star just watched it on my lap top, shed a tear at the end, do you know how the lady in the last wedding got on after wards she looked so nervous.
When researching my tree i always hoped i could fins a traverling backround, im so envious of the way of live, we once srayed on a traverlers site whilst getting my son into a specialist school in that county, in the next caravan was a lady called hilda, she must be about 90 now her van is all cut glass and beautiful she was a show girl and had poodles trained with her , i love her stories, and all the girls and boys are beautiful.
i think hilda was with stokes fair, do you know her xx

Pusser cat, I cant remember who was last, was it the girl who lived in the house? If so thats Joan, shes very happy, she was just nervous about the wedding and the cameras. Shes also staying in England not Ireland so she'll still see her parents. Im afraid I dont know of Stokes fair, but you could always ask on the Romany Roots website, or the RTFHS if youre interested generally. PS, the filmaker Damien Bos is considering making a 3 hour documentary, he's stunned at how popular the programme was. Theres a facebook group set up for it as well.
