call my stepdad has a very virerlent cancer there hoping it hasnt spread but he had been complaining for 12 months before they did a biopsy please send him positive thoughts and prayers thankyou xx.

he has had it for 3 yrs they have been treating him with antibiotics someone decided to do a biopsy last week !! its started as lichen sclerosis he is going to a hospital in birmingham or near thanks xxxx

Puss....stop panicking......fortunately for him, your step dad is a bloke... so it will be much more easily sorted than if he had been a woman... it is very rare in a bloke, which is why it wasn't suspected earlier, I imagine... it is what I had my biopsy for last August, thankfully mine was clear and my problem was aside effect of the other treatment I had.

So.... prognosis is pretty good with treatment... the sooner they get it started, the better... he will be panicking, as we all do about our menfolk, because of where it is... but try not to let worry overwhelm you....

I will keep you all in my thoughts.... treatment won't be too nice, no cancer treatment is, but there is a very high full recovery rate.... so hopefully your stepdad will be in that group... chances are he will be xxxxxxx

I'll google some sites for you to look at... be warned that there isn't a great deal of info out there, as it is one of the *poor cousin* cancers that is rarely heard about.

thanks daff xx thing is this has been going on for 3 yrs , recently he has been complaing of pains in his stomach and sleeping alot, he has a grey look to him, but we are telling mum its his age although he is only 66,
there is no easy way off asking this but the lump is the sie off a golf ball, mum thinks he will have his bits removed and will need a bag , ive had a look on line , i wonder how early they mean early?, otherwise he is well built hard working healthy man so he stands an excellent chance i hope, please tell me what you think, another thing daff they did a biopsy there 3 yrs ago one of the lumps was cancerous but they said he didnt need further treatment as they had it all hopefull its just turned xx

Try and keep him hopeful and he will have a better chance of recovery. Do talk about it, not hide it away. I never concealed my cancers from anyone and it helps others to understand that it can be cured.

I really hope it goes well for you and your step-dad.
