What do you mean trying to trace her John? Do you mean the marriage reference or the children born to the marriage? IT was William H and Margaret A by the way. Ref Leeds 9b 715

ChristineinPortugal Report 31 Mar 2010 20:32

As she has the middle initial A on the marriage registration this is a possible but you need the cert to be sure.

Do you know where she was born John and are you sure about it being 1880? The reason I ask is because a possible death I have found would make her born earlier than 1880. SORRY - ignore that, I see she was born in 1880.

Hi Christine.
Not sure about marriage although this marriage was at St Aidan's church like the sister's ,Arthur's alas was at Gainsborough!!.
In my late fathers belongings he did have the interment cards for his Great Grandparents which is for Driffield cemetery and this made it easy to trace the family from there backwards .But his Grandparents and family its hard going.I visited church and cemetery (Oct 2009)at Cotton Stones where they are buried but a number of headstones you can't read and the Vicar is unfortunatly a very busy person but at least i know where they are. Alice Bywater (ward) daughter record the deaths of both ot them but again I'm unable to trace her after 1936.

Cheers for now.

John.

Hi Christine,
Burton Agnes does come under Bridlington, and they where living there at the time also there Grand parents lived on the main st. as wheel wrights/joiners they retired and lived @Skern Rd. Driffield and interred (I have the original interment cards for these two) with them are the names Harriet Wood(granddaughter)her husband Enus Bates there 3 children to which one of these married a Hawcroft who is also with them .I've still to sort this out.

Hi John,

If you know they were married at St Aidans church, do you have the cert as that will give her father's name.

Which one of the children are you descended from as I'm finding it very confusing.

Please come back John and help us out. Where did your grandfather John Thomas Ward die in 1918 please? I have spent half the morning trying to sort this out but I can't find any likely death for a John T Ward in 1918, apart from one in Nottingham and one with the age slightly out in Ashton Lancashire.
