I've got my lot coming up on Monday, so it'll be chicken breast wrapped in tomato and basil paste, mozzerella cheese and pancetta, with new potatoes, broccoli, carrots and something else, dunno what's available yet, followed my blackberry and apple crumble requested by my son, and mississippi mud pie, which I will make on sunday. I shall bake some fresh foccaccia (sp) to go with it.

A very welcome salad tonight, and tomorrow being Good Friday, it has to be fish, which I like anyway. Saturday evening meal is Chicken Roulade with Tagliatelle in a light Sherry Cream Sauce. Easter Sunday is Leg of Lamb, New Potatoes, Cauliflower (50p Offer at Tesco), Green Beans and Peas, with home made Mint Sauce. Hoping during the day, weather permitting, to go to a County/Agricultural Show, and will walk in the open air having something I seldom have, either a Burger or a Hot Dog. This will be my Easter treat.
Monday is Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms for OH, and the jolly old Pixilax for me before having a Barium X-Ray on Tuesday. Oh Joy of joys.
I am going to bake a Cherry Pie, because I fancy one, and a couple of French sticks. The Chicken Roulades will be made by moix also.
I have loads of greenhouse work to do, and OH has ordered that I do not take on too much baking. He says I always overdo it. But I like it.
Happy Baking and Easter to you all

Welllll........as the tribe are all supposed to be joining me, OH and MiL for Easter Sunday dinner........I have.....

.....already roasted the boned out rib-roast 2 1/2 hrs at 120 degrees......brilliant - thanks Heston Blumenthal (20 hrs at 50 degrees).....couldn't wait that long, but experimented......and it worked.....

Got to defrost turkey crown and turkey breast roast and pork/lincoln/cumberland sausages........then roast the gammon and open a big tin of pineapple slices.....

Do a big fresh fruit salad...

Sally

Sally Report 1 Apr 2010 14:25

continued/... make Jay's (SiL) lime cheesecake thingy......

digestive biscuit with butter base....
2 limes and 500 gm marscapone cheese and icing sugar in there somewhere (have to read the recipe), but when he did it , it was great....

It might seem like tons of food, but they all take much of what is left home so they don't have to cook the next day....

.....the next day, being Easter Monday all coincides with my oldest girl Grandchild's 7th birthday.......and on Saturday we should be having them for the day.......but the youngest has just come down with chicken pox and my Daughter is pregnant, and I heard from MiL that she can't come because she is down with a bad cough (feels better today).....

Soooo.....the Easter Egg Hunt (where two of them decided the kids are eating too much chocolate and can we substitute for healthy stuff......thanks kids!!...... and Sunday dinner, could fall by the wayside.....

still......as long as they are all healthy it doesn't matter......

Julia, can I sneak away and join you for dinner....:0))

......hope the barium meal thing turns out for you......x

Sally

Sally Report 1 Apr 2010 14:38

lol Julia, funnily enough we always say we are feeding the 5,000......how did you know????

Gertie, who will be 90 soon
OH and me
Daughter (preggers) and SiL
Son and DiL
Son and DiL
7 Grandchildren from 13 down to 1 and a bit (there will be 8 in May)

16 it looks like, but of course the littlies do not eat much, but they all like to take stuff home........and I have to do a load of sausages because they love sausage and mash........but had to cut down on the sweet stuff (trifles and cakes) because they are concerned about intake of sugar for the small ones........shame, the Easter Egg hunt now contains a lot of Babybel cheese, triangles and cheese dunkers and strings, raisins in boxes etc. as well as son mini eggs, etc......

Nice to see you......
