hmm...now that has happened once before , and there wasn't a death ( superstitious? me? ) but with hindsight it did presage a difficult time...was it a warning? so should I take note of this one?!

It's funny really as it's a water colour of a sea inlet, I bought it at auction a year ago because it reminded me of the place i used to pass every day going to college...I wonder if there's a connection..

I'd say it was a warning to check the fixings on your pictures and hooks on the walls!!!

lol Carol, that's only mirrors ;) and the glass didn't break :)) ( anyways you can 'wash' that away by putting the mirror pieces under running water lol.

well that's what I would say too Maggie, only that it is has been there a year with no bother, and no 'reason' why it would suddenly go after that.

Ah - but there could be a reason after a year (apart from loud music).
Every time you walk past or dust a picture, it moves!
This could either slowly wear away the string (if that's what's holding it), it could make the hooks (either on the back or the wall) slowly loosen, or could make the picture gradually move towards the edge of the hanging hook.

Maggie...dusting? what's that? lol

Sorry Rose, it's a word I saw in a dictionary once, not something I do - because it can make pictures fall off walls!!

Perhaps the Tide was on the Ebb in the Inlet and wanted to take it along with it.**M**.

If a mirror falls off a wall and breaks, this means a death. If it doesn't break it means someone close will end up in hospital. :-)))

The picture could mean the same....in this case whatever is associated with it will be involved.

Walls are symbols of permanence. When we mere mortals attach something to them, we are hoping that that image will assume the same permanence.

But ..... woe betide that the walls should reject our overtures. Perchance it could fling our transitory offerings away - usually under cover of darkness (walls being creatures of the night).

There's only one solution in the soothsayer's guide.

Let the walls know who's the master. Shout at them. Tell them loudly that you will not, under any circumstances, tolerate such aberrant behaviour.
