I have spent some time reading how many of you young folk think we oldies are thick. I am really sorry abour that because most of us are not!!! You must remember computers were not around when we where young. It has taken me longer to be computer literate than it did to get a degree in metalurgy. Now, how many of you youngsters kn ow about metalergy./
Please give us oldies the benefit of the doubt. I for one try very hard to get into the computer age.
Than you all

How old's old?
I usually flummox the young squats by admitting I'm no good at maths (which is true), then working out somethng before they've even found their calculator!
I never knew at the time, how learning times tables by rote would be useful!!!

I enjoy using my bus pass too - just don't like the photo on it. Who is that woman - I don't recognize her? :-(

Snap Pauline - same age!

This old lady would love to use her bus pass, but it means someone has to take me two miles to the nearest town to catch one, and meet me coming back! My brain feels young enough, but the body Ugh.
I enjoy seeing the look of disbelief when I say that I shop on the internet, or that i have researched something on there. Also the photo on my bus pass was taken by me, printed by me. I know quite a few people half my age who are terrified of computers. Look at the lovely people i would not have 'met' on here if I didnt use one1

Hi, Janet, I didnt start using a computer until I was 70, now at 75 I am like Jean I buy lots on line from clothes to craft stuff and all sorts inbetween, I go all over the world thanks to Google eatrh or maps, I have a mind of a 30 year old but the legs have a job remembering that I love being on here I have made many lovely caring friends, life is a b****h but are we downhearted we are NOT !!!!
have great day,

Jean x

You all sound such great girls! Just like my 96 yr old m-i-l, who says she still feels 17 inside and would love to use the computer, but can't because her eyes are failing. She always wears make-up and nail polish and does the cryptic Telegraph crossword every day (and usually completes it!)

Rita, you may be one of the oldest on here, I dont know, But OH has a cousin of 94, who keeps in touch with his family by e-mail and is very competent. More power to his elbow I say.

And remember for some of us oldies (76 me) the computer has been a real blessing. I have become too deaf to use the phone or the radio but with e-mail I can communicate with friends and family, and shopping, without asking for help, get the news and a lot of information from browsing - and of course the interest of being able to pursue a hobby like genealogy on line! the last few years would lhave been pretty bleak without my computer.
