Hi,
Does anyone know of any online information for baptisms for Greenwich?

Some of them are on Ancestry in their London Metropolitan Archive's data base.

If you don't have a sub, tell us who your are looking for, and someone could have a go.

Have you tried searching the IGI? (familysearch.org). If you aren't aware, Extracted means transcribed, and Submitted means someone has up loaded their family tree. That info may be correct, a 'best guess', or flight of fancy.

1908 baptism is too late for London records on Ancestry ( they are to 1906)

Is Alice's ( 1895) birth name Parsons ? there are several , do you have father's name ?

i'm afraid that i know nothing about Alice 1895.
the only thing we know is that she died when Alice Louisa 1908, was a child and that she died of Spanish Flu.
I've found a death cert registered in 1918 so have sent for that.
the age on the register gives 23 though which means Alice snr would have been born around 1895, which would have only made her around 13 when she had Alice Louisa.

So as yet without the death cert to check the age I can't confirm anything for Alice snr!

i also searched for them on 1911 census but couldn't find them!!

LouiseJN Report 27 Sep 2010 14:00

Sorry, just found your previous posts on what you found! must have knocked my scroll down bar and missed them!

Yes that does look like could be a good contender for Alice snr.

i've just done an address search for 44 Vanborough Hill, Greenwich where Alice Louisa was born -
in 1911 there is the Thompson family living there - no Parsons but they do have a servant.
just gonna check 1901.

LouiseJN

LouiseJN Report 27 Sep 2010 14:11

1901 census 44 Vanborough Hill is diff family.

LouiseJN

LouiseJN Report 27 Sep 2010 15:02

just checked the Alice with parents John & Sarah on the 1911 census -
Alice is still living with them and unfortunately there is no baby Alice living with them.
Suppose she could have farmed baby Alice out or sent her to an orphange!?
Problem is Alice 1908 used to tell that her mother died at home with her and that the doctor thought she would get the spanish flu too!

Rambling Report 27 Sep 2010 15:13

Hi Louise , sorry got kicked of site and just managed to log back on lol.

Ah so we need to find baby Alice in the 1911, I don't have access to that unfortunately,

Not convinced these are correct. There is no older Alice and all of the children listed fit to the number that they say they have given birth to.
I tell you never been so stumped!!
Hope the death cert for Alie snr gives me some more clues! probably the wrong 1!!

If she is just down as Alice ( jnr) in 1911 you might try looking at the couple that are in Bermondsey? being about the closest .
