Rhubarb and custard candy??

How have I lived without knowing about that? And now it's too late?

My favourite food in the world is my gramma's rhubarb and custard pie.

The afore mention supermarket has recently started selling bags of sweets of yesteryear & sells those too Janey. :o)

Do they have a proper/trade name? I would love to get some for my mum for Christmas -- seriously! Might be able to order by internet, you never know.

Otherwise, someone could just volunteer to mail me some ...

I think I'll just call up some fancy/import candy stores around me and ask!

Anniseed Balls , my younger sister used to love these and whenever we went to buy then the man servivng used oo ask her to repeat what she had asked for......I will leave it for you to figure out what it was she was actually saying!

Gob stoppers, Chunks of broken chocolate of various types, Five Boys Chocolate, Chews, Mars Bars that I remember were huge, I hated and still do White chocolate, My dad used to buy me some lovely toffees and the wraping had a picture of a lady on them and now the name has gone right out of my head,

Sugar mice, think you could get white or pink.

Forgot about golden cup.

I remember the Imps, loved them and those cough lozenges, Victory V's. Sherbet lemons were another favourite, I think you can still get them.

Blackjacks & fruit salad, used to get 4 for a penny......New pence that is. lol :o)))

There is a new shop that has opened were I live and they sell all these and more, it's like going back in time when you go in there, the first time I went in I spent half an hour talking to other customer's reminising about all the different sweet's and as we remembered them we found them on the shelves ( it was half an hour of heaven ) lol.
One of my favourite's was the Golden nugget's in a little bag that when you chewed them became chewy. ( you had to have about 10 nugget's to get a decent amount of chewy )
