Merlin
All joking apart silk is extremely warm and very lightweight.
I had a very thin silk poloneck jersey that I wore in Finland when average
temperatures were -14 during the day.
On the whole natural fibres are much warmer than man made fibres.

Egg nog - I wear slippers that cover my ankles as they are much warmer and don't forget a hat even indoors!!!
Take care and keep warm

Hi
Millets are also a good source for silk/thermal underwear as skiers wear them under salopettes.

I'm sitting here with two pairs of socks on,slippers.jeans,a long sleeved top and two fleeces.Heating has been on solid for 4 days and I'm still freezing.

The snow and ice all over the roof and ice down some of the walls dont help.
Even tha cat is feeling it she has taken to sitting on the floor where the water pumps through or stay's in bed lol.
I've got a fleecy blanket i use sometimes too .
** and a scarf I havent taken off since I came in**

Since we had the cavity walls done and new windows this house stays war, I must admit the heating is on higher than normal because I have been drying washing but it is -7 outside at least and I am warm here, have four thin layers on. cami, two thin sweaters and a waistcoat. (Incidentally I am one who feels the cold too.)

Was -14 here last night and is getting worse.
Just heard on the news that the antefreeze/screen wash was feezing in the garages.
