I see we are already into the public keeping in those who can't skate and those who can going out. Pity becaue those that were kept in this evening at least two of them are not improving at all, the judges votes ranged from 10 to 25, and the 10 is in for next week.

Tonight was ridiculous - neither of those couples deserved to be in the bottom 2 - there were at least 4 couples worse than them. The voting seems to get worse each year.

We did'nt see the results...who went out??

Perhaps he is jealous cos Karen is dating Chris Dean now!
It was so rude, the way he spoke to her, good for her for standing up to him but not really appropriate behaviour for either of them, it's a family entertainment show fgs.

Actually while I find Jason very abrasive, he is a very good judge of performance which id what he is there for. Sometimes his comments are a bit over the top. And yes, he was not nice to Karen, but no way should she have left her seat and approached him for a row in his face. She should have waited until after the performance. And he wouldn't have been rude if she had not publicly criticized his judging. As he rightly said 'I am here to judge'. Very unprofessional.

I think Jason to be an ignorant PIG. to critise one our our war heros like that. Good on Karen for jumping in to protect him. I think the programme boss's should warn him, that his job is on the line talking like that. I have never liked Jason. for reasons I won't go into.

Karen is an ice skater. She was British no 2 with Nicky Slater when Chris & Jane were no 1. She has been on the programe since it started.

I believe that ice skater dancers should be the judges it is ridiculous that Jason is on there and Emma Bunton. Emma is a singer so what qualifications has she got to judge people on the ice. Likewise Jason might have been a dance choreographer but dancing on ice is totally different.

Jason has also several times critised the choreography . Goodness sake Christopher Dean does that and he didn't do to bad in his career.

That's my opinion anyway.

I think it was totally unproffessional on Jason's part... I suspect Karen is not on the panel and he is, only because tv bosses think ( and they're probably right) that the public like someone who will give ascerbic and often very personal comments...he is not there for his choreography skills which I am sure are wonderful... Bring back Nicky who was honest, not always agreeing with the other judges but who DID have a knowledge of the subject and kept his comments direct but not personal.

And do get rid of Emma...she has no place there either.

I agree with you Rose about Nicky and Emma, swop them over. Frank I have mixed feelings here. Johnson is a war heroe of course and I absolutely admire him for getting out there and learning to skate. But, it is a skating competition in the long run and it wouldn't be fair to the other competitors if they soft soaped him for who/what he is. And I don't think to be fair he would want that. And he is still in despite the criticism I suspect because whoever Jason puts down the public vote for. Maybe he will take the criticism on board and come back and surprise them all next week like Jeff did this week. By the way Jason was also very nasty to comedy Dave, I don't see anyone standing up for him Lol!!!

Karen is there because I think she coaches/advises the skaters and is their representative. She is certainly very knowledgeable but they were both unprofessional this week, not just Jason.

I got fed up with it the last time .Colleen Nolan was on and
couldn't skate to save her life, yet she was voted to be kept
on by the public. It spoilt the programme for me to see good
skaters being voted off. I also agree that Emma B should not
be on the panel, she knows as much as I do about skating and
thats nothing.

Whilst I didn't like Jason's comment to Karen last night he did give a very clear apology and accepted he had overstepped his rudeness. Karen should have then said nothing as she would have scored the point but to start acting so emotional on the screen was out of order. Jason does have some valid points and I have gone to dance competitions over the years and heard some adjudicators being equally as forthright to young children. The difference is a child will accept the criticism more readily than an adult as they know that they can improve and maybe win if the advice is taken on board. Sometimes it takes a second opinion to get the message across. If everyone pussyfoots round the problem no progress is made and I think all the contestants appreciate constructive criticism but Jason needs lessons in putting his knowledge across in a more kindly way.-jle

A lot of the time Jason's comments are correct regarding the skating,,,,but its when he starts making uncessary remarks about people 'looking like they'v got an extra chromasome',,,or 'looking like they're getting ready for an internal examination'....
The man is disgusting..

And yes,,he did make a clear aplogy,,he apolgised in a clear voice,,,,,that was all...and then his following remarks cancelled it all out,

Apparently Jeff Brazier went to the loo just before the argument started otherwise he said he would have stepped in and defended Karen, can you imagine how bad things would have been then with more folk joining in? Gentlemanly of him tho, I think he is a really nice chap and it's so lucky Jade's little boys have him to bring them up. He is so proud of them and wants to make them proud of him too.

I wonder if there will be a rethink next series on the judges? Jason is insufferably rude and out of order many times.

If Emma B doesn't dance, what was she doing on stage with the Spice Girls? She certainly didn't look like a stick to me.-jl

Mmm, well she's not what you would call a professional skater/choreographer either(sp) and her danceing with Spice Girls was abit basic compared to Ice Dance....where as Karen is a professional skater/choreographer...and Sharon Davis is'nt a piece of what ever the word was in the loo:o((

The main thing is Jason is/was out of order big time, never really liked him but have always liked Emma, she's more human:o)) lol

Much as I like Karen I don't think she is cut out for the assertive opinions that are required of a panel of judges. Three passive judges don't make good television.Some people prefer to chirrup in the background.
Quite often the audience starts booing before Jason has even spoken which proves that he is not being listened to, considered, then reacted to.
I hope this whole incident will result in Jason keeping to the point in a less personal way and concentrate on helping the celebrities bring out the best in each performance.-jle
