I just want to air whats going off with me .................................... I wish I had grown a backbone sooner than I did. I wish I had found my voice sooner than I did, because if I had my life would have been a whole lot different.

Don't hold yourself back because of what others want you to do, or worry about how it will look on them. Cos boy am I living to regret it. I'm now stuck with this.

Stuck with what? Do not leave us in suspenders! Can we help?

This life

Some of those things I wish I had done however life is sweet and is more sweeter when you have been in danger of losing it.

Can't change the past but can make better use of the present and future.

You only have one life, don,t waste it, its never too late to change it and turn it round to what you yourself want. but you have to do it,not talk about doing it and then regreting why you did,nt. If you feel the need to change do so, only you can make that decision.Take care.**M**.

What would you have done if you had had your way. And what can you do now to set things right?

I too feel like you. How I wish I had done things so differently. Wish i had learnt years ago how to stand up for myself, to do the things I had wanted to do and not what other people wanted me to do. My regrets just go on and on and now at the age of 62 I have very little confidence to change things.

I hate my life but don't know what I need to do to turn it around. I have let people put me down all my life until it came to the stage where I believed that I was no good at anything. I know that's not true but when it happens so many times you get to believe it is.

I hope things change for you before long and also I must concentrate on doing this for myself too.

Its very hard to change the past but through researching the family tree and through the death of my Parents I could understand, but not always forgive or forget what happened then, but the past has gone and the future is in front of us all.

Every change stars with a very small step but small steps add up to bigger things.

Never ever give up trying to change things even in a small way.

Maybe you will be surprised to learn that there is a whole world out there feeling like you feel right now.

We all went wrong .............. somewhere along the line.

But you are one of the fortunate ones.

For you now seemingly have a backbone ............ and you now have a voice ! ............................................ many do not.

If you now have those strengths then it is never too late to realise them.


Your future must surely be in your own hands

It's easy for people to say, Well change things but often it's very difficult.
I too made big mistakes and thought I had found the way to go, but had instead misjudged someone badly because they weren't open and honest, and now am really stuck with mental health problems and no finances to get me out of this mess.

I wish you luck to find the way out, both you and Julia, and one day maybe I will find the strength to sort out my life to go the way I want.

Did I say I was different? Did I ask for advice or help? No, my topic states "Letting Off Steam".

I know all too well that there is a world full off people just like me and more probably in a worse situations than me, but if they are in a better position than I am to change it then I hope this may help, inspire them.

It may also have helped those who have commented on here, just by letting off steam of their own. My future does lie in my hands .........but so does my children's. What sort of Mum would I be if I chose to do what I wanted? They come first, always will.

You know nothing of my life, and even my friends don't know the half of it. I have made small steps, I'm not the most confident of people, I struggle I fail. Failing my Kids? Don't think I could live with that.

Well,you can let off steam here any time you want, Mrs Gene. You know you are among friends, and, as you can see, it helps other folks in a similar position. Just to type it down must be a help. Here's wishing you strength:-) BC XX

I replied quite angrily last night, but deleted it lol.

I'd just better echo what Liz and BC have said.

It is fine in principle to say " if you don't like the status quo, then change it"...if it is just yourself you have to consider it is easier. And it is very hard to leap out of the frying pan without knowing there is something better to land in, you either have to be very strong or very reckless...fine dividing line there!

Well doine for coming on here and letting off steam. I hope it made you feel a little better. Nothing worse than not being in conrol of your life and sometimes difficult to do that. We all make bad judgements and sometimes it is difficult to disentangle ourselves from them.

Try to seek out some support no matter how small, make use of the mental health services if not already doing so. Make use of the advice services to help you with your finances ie citizens advice..

Keep going Mrs Gene for yourself and your children.
