There are cars being washed out to sea, Fires have broken out. It does not look good they have cancelled our TV programmes and we are watching this. They are telling us that NZ, Australia and Chile etc could also get Tsunamis as well. |

It's all been quite awful hasn't it. My Sister-in-law's family live in the Kagoshima area, so they are all safe, but even so, many more people are going through a dreadful time. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. |

There has possibly been a second unrelated earthquake in Japan, near Nagano. It might be an aftershock from the first one, but it is on a different fault line. I haven't heard how strong it was, possibly about 6 |

Have watched the pictures coming onto the airwaves of the damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. My heart and prayers go out to all of the people involved. |

The Japanese sent a team here to NZ to help with the searching for bodies after the Christchurch earthquake - we have a lot of Japanese students here. My next door neighbour is Japanese, so will pop over and see her later today. We will probably be sending a team over there now and offering as much help as we can. There are quite a lot of NZders in that area of Japan. |

And now a 6.1 off the coast of Tonga a couple of hours or so ago. I havent heard if there has been any damage though. It was probably deep enough (10km, I think) and far enough away to not shake the island too much. |
