I would personally advise doing a free trial on Ancestry first, see if you like it, depending on what you're looking for, Ancestry has records that GR doesn't have. |

Ann you have your grandad born 1909 Southampton, so you could ask on 'find ancestors' board if someone will look for him with parents on the 1911 census. You will need his birth cert to be sure of parents but depending on name the 1911 may give you a good idea ( if it's not a common name). |

Thankyou so much everyone x I spoke to my granddad a lot and he never said he lived in Stoneham. Perhaps could you find his mother - I have her details and know they are correct. |
